NZDF members & whānau; have your say on pay, conditions & welfare
We have opened up this form for current and former service personnel, whanau and civilians associated with the NZDF or living in NZDF housing to share their own letters, stories and personal experiences in regards to pay, welfare and conditions provided by the NZDF. These submissions will then be collated and sent to representatives. This is our chance to share our experiences and stories in a bid to advocate for change in regards to pay, conditions and welfare. As they say, sunlight is the best disinfectant. All submissions will be treated as anonymous, and anonymity will be upheld at all costs. Some things that would be helpful to share:
Any financial struggles you face on current wages and rents, the state of your housing and accommodation including barracks, the condition of Defence Estate buildings where you work from and train in and any impacts poor housing has had on you and your whanau. Any personal welfare and support struggles (i.e. access to adequate childcare, mental health care, family support programs etc). Anything else relevant related to the welfare and conditions of service personnel and whanau including lack of support, time away from home and the impact of postings. *Please provide provide rough dates/months and timeframes if you can and any photos of housing, or medical records you could provide in support.
