The Life Sciences Pitching Bootcamp will allow PhD students, Early Career Researchers and Academics to develop some of the key skills needed to sell their research ideas as viable commercial ventures.
We ask you to provide a 500-word written pitch related to your current research and complete a pre-course survey to capture their entrepreneurial skills and thinking before taking part in the bootcamp.
At the one-day intensive pitching bootcamp on October 23rd in Glasgow where they will learn about the start-up roadmap, advice on pitching and stories from thriving start-up companies in Scotland.
The day will be filled with learning and networking and will conclude with the participants re-writing their original pitch using the learnings from the day and presenting it to our speakers who will act as judges for this element. Winners of each category will receive funding towards their professional development/further entrepreneurial training.
SULSA represents the entirety of life, medical and environmental sciences and as such, our participants will be grouped into Plant, Animal, Human, and Microbe headings and relevant speakers from each heading will be invited to present and mentor the participants throughout the day.
