Overview
INNOMED 2026 (Innovation Competition in conjunction with IMDEC 2026) invites innovators from STEM Schools, Universities (IPTS & IPTA) and Professional sectors to showcase impactful medical and healthcare innovations.
This competition aims to foster healthcare innovation by providing a structured platform for participants to present:
• Research Ideas (Conceptual / Early Stage – Poster Presentation)
• Research Innovations (Prototype / Product-Based Solutions)
All submissions must be related to medical, health, or healthcare-focused innovation clusters.
Event Date: 26-28 August 2026
Submission: 15 March - 30 June 2026

Payment
- Submission will not be finalised if payment is not made.
- Submission will be revoked if payment is not made within 14 days from submission date.
- Fee payment is non refundable.
Eligibility

- TVET Students
- University Students
- Professionals
- Each team may consist of a
- minimum of four (4) members - Reserach innovation Track & StartUp
- minimum of two (2) members - Poster Competition.
- All innovations must fall under medical and healthcare-related innovation clusters.
Entry Requirements
- Submission Channel
- All entries MUST be submitted via the official InnoMD 2026 Entry Form
- Submission Components
- Participants MUST upload:
- ABSTRACT (using official template, PDF format, maximum 2 pages)
- Supporting documents (poster / prototype image if applicable)
- Language
- Submissions must be in Bahasa Malaysia or English
- Incomplete submissions may not be evaluated
Evaluation Process
INNOMED 2026 follows a three-round evaluation process:
Round 1 – Online Evaluation
- Assessment of submitted abstract and supporting materials.
- Each competition track will be shortlisted.
Round 2 – On-Site Evaluation (Day 1- 26 August 2026)
- Research Idea: Poster Exhibition
- Research Innovation Track: Prototype/Product Exhibition
Round 3 – Final Pitching (Day 2 - 27 August 2026)
- Applicable to Research Innovation category only.
- Shortlisted participation category will pitch live.
Judging criteria include:
- Innovation & Novelty
- Feasibility & Technical Merit
- Practical Application
- Impact on Healthcare Sector
- Presentation & Communication Quality
Judging panel consists of industry experts, academicians, healthcare professionals, and innovation stakeholders.
All judging decisions are final.
Intellectual Property
- Participants retain full ownership of their intellectual property.
- By submitting, participants grant INNOMED 2026 organisers the right to use:
- Project title
- Abstract summary
- Photos/videos taken during event for promotional and reporting purposes.
- Participants are responsible for securing IP protection prior to submission if necessary.
Confidentiality
- Organisers will not disclose detailed technical information to third parties without consent.
- Participants are responsible for safeguarding sensitive proprietary information.
Competition Timeline
- Submission Deadline : 11:59pm on 30 JUNE 2026, TUESDAY
- Judging Period: 01 JULY 2025 - 18 JULY 2026
- Finalists Announcement: 30 JULY 2026 via Email
- Final Pitch Event: 28 AUGUST 2026, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC)
Judging Criteria
- Submissions will be judged based on:
- Novelty of innovation
- Feasibility
- Market potential
- Presentation quality
- The judging panel will consist of industry experts, academicians, investors, and representatives from PERANTIM and USIM (the Academic partner).
Travel & Accommodation
- Travel and accomodation are fully borned by participants
- Shortlisted participants must attend the event physically

Disqualification
Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any submission that:
- Does not comply with competition rules & regulations
- Contains Plagiarism
- Violates intellectual property rights
- Provides false information
Liability
- PERANTIM is not responsible for any damages or losses incurred as a result of participating in the competition.
- Participants agree to indemnify PERANTIM against any claims arising from their submissions.
Publicity
- Winners agree to participate in publicity activities and grant PERANTIM the right to use their names and likenesses for promotional purposes.
Governing Law
- The competition is governed by the laws of Malaysia.
