Overview
INNOMED 2026 (Innovation Competition in conjunction with IMDEC 2026) invites innovators from Schools, Universities, and Professional sectors to showcase impactful medical and healthcare innovations.
This competition aims to foster healthcare innovation by providing a structured platform for participants to present:
• Research Ideas (Conceptual / Early Stage – Poster Presentation)
• Research Innovations (Prototype / Product-Based Solutions)
All submissions must be related to medical, health, or healthcare-focused innovation clusters.

Eligibility
1. The competition is open to:
- STEM School & TVET Students
- University Students
- Professionals
2. Each team may consist of a maximum of four (4) members EXCEPT for Poster Competition.
3. All innovations must fall under medical and healthcare-related innovation clusters.
Entry Requirements
1. Submission Channel
- All entries must be submitted via the official INNOMED 2026 Entry Form
2. Submission Components
- Participants must upload:
- Abstract (using official template, PDF format, max 2 pages)
- Supporting documents (poster/prototype image if applicable)
3. Language
- Submissions must be in Bahasa Malaysia or English.
4. Incomplete submissions may not be evaluated.
Evaluation Process
INNOMED 2026 follows a three-round evaluation process:
Round 1 – Online Evaluation
• Assessment of submitted abstract and supporting materials.
• Each competition track will be shortlisted.
Round 2 – On-Site Booth Evaluation (26 August 2026)
• Research Idea: Poster Exhibition
• Research Innovation Track: Prototype/Product Exhibition
Round 3 – Final Pitching (27 August 2026)
• Applicable to Research Innovation category only.
• Top 5 projects per participation category will pitch live.
Judging criteria include:
• Innovation & Novelty
• Feasibility & Technical Merit
• Practical Application
• Impact on Healthcare Sector
• Presentation & Communication Quality
Judging panel consists of industry experts, academicians, healthcare professionals, and innovation stakeholders.
All judging decisions are final.
Intellectual Property
1. Participants retain full ownership of their intellectual property.
2. By submitting, participants grant INNOMED 2026 organisers the right to use:
- Project title
- Abstract summary
- Photos/videos taken during event for promotional and reporting purposes.
3. Participants are responsible for securing IP protection prior to submission if necessary.
Confidentiality
1. Organisers will not disclose detailed technical information to third parties without consent.
2. Participants are responsible for safeguarding sensitive proprietary information.
Judging Criteria
1. Submissions will be judged based on:
a) Novelty of innovation
b) Feasibility
c) Market potential
d) Presentation quality
e) The judging panel will consist of industry experts, academicians, investors, and representatives from PERANTIM and USIM (the Academic partner).
Prizes
1. Details on prizes will be announced soon.
Competition Timeline
1. Submission Deadline : 11:59pm on 30 JUNE 2025, Monday
2. Judging Period: 01 JULY 2025 - 07 JULY 2025
3. Finalists Announcement: 08 JULY 2025 via Email
4. Final Pitch Event: 16-17 JULY 2025, Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC)
Travel and Accommodation
1. Finalists or their representatives are required to attend the pitch event. PERANTIM will NOT cover the travel and accommodation expenses for the finalists or their representatives.
Disqualification
1. PERANTIM reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the terms and conditions.
2. Entries containing plagiarism or violating third-party rights will be disqualified.
Liability
1. PERANTIM is not responsible for any damages or losses incurred as a result of participating in the competition.
2. Participants agree to indemnify PERANTIM against any claims arising from their submissions.
Publicity
1. Winners agree to participate in publicity activities and grant PERANTIM the right to use their names and likenesses for promotional purposes.
Governing Law
1. The competition is governed by the laws of Malaysia.
