Lockdown K Youtube Video Editor Job Description:

We run Lockdown K, a YouTube channel that creates long-form, documentary-style videos about the NBA. Our videos dive deep into storylines, player arcs, draft history, trades, and everything else that makes the league dramatic and unpredictable. Most videos are between 30 and 90 minutes long and mix voiceover, highlights, stats, memes, custom motion graphics, and emotional pacing.

We’re hiring a video editor who can do both:
    1. Build full edits in Premiere Pro
    2. Create motion graphics in After Effects

If you’re only great at one of those, that’s still fine we want to hear from you.

This is a hybrid creative role. You'll be responsible for cutting scenes, sourcing footage, syncing VO and music, and either building motion graphics yourself or inserting clear placeholders so our graphics team knows what to create. You should understand visual storytelling, how to pace a scene, when to build emotion, and how visuals support the voiceover.

Whether you're doing both editing and motion yourself, or building timelines that pass cleanly to another artist, your job is to help make compelling basketball storytelling that doesn’t feel like a template.

Channels whos edits we like, Lockdown K, JimmyHighRoller, Baseball Doesn't Exist, Rick'sF1Addiction, PointlessHub

    Ideal Candidate

Is a passionate basketball fan and understands the game and a regular consumer of basketball content on YouTube, especially from channels like JimmyHighRoller, Any Basketball Podcast, and probably some other basketball creators

Lockdown K After Effects/Animation Video Editor Job Description:

Hello! We are looking for a skilled animator and visual effects artist to join our team at Lockdown K. We're seeking someone who can create engaging, customizable visuals for our sports-focused YouTube content, with a primary focus on NBA and potentially NFL. This role is perfect for a creative individual who loves sports and wants to contribute to high-quality animation and effects. You will also lead music curation and sound design across each video, selecting songs that match tone, making frequent music switches to push pacing, layering sound effects, and maintaining a consistent cinematic feel. As the end video editor, you are the final stop before release and will catch and fix small imperfections so the cut ships polished.

Channels whose edits we like: Lockdown K, JxmyHighRoller, Cult Tennis, RickysF1Addiction

    Responsibilities:

    • Create visuals that can be used and or modified by our long-form video editors.
    • Develop engaging custom animations and visual effects to enhance the viewing experience.
    • Work with After Effects, animation software, or Blender to produce high-quality visuals.
    • Design visuals that are adaptable for multiple uses across our content.
    • Collaborate with our main video editors to understand their needs and create time-saving visual elements.
    • Meet deadlines consistently and provide high-quality work with minimal revisions.
    • Be open to feedback and willing to make adjustments to your work as needed.
    • Stay up to date with current trends in sports graphics and animation techniques.
    • Maintain organized project files for easy handoff to other team members.
    • Curate music and sound design that fits tone, make intentional song switches to drive pace, and layer sound effects without clutter.
    • Balance overall audio to consistent levels with tools like EQ, compressors, noise gates, and LUFS normalization.
    • Act as the end video editor for final polish, fixing minor imperfections such as audio pops, abrupt transitions, caption or lower-third typos, color mismatches, framing tweaks, and render artifacts before export.

    What You’ll Receive From Me:

    • Work with fully edited Premiere Pro files that include all clips, timing, and music, allowing complete focus on visuals and graphics.
Google Drive folders of pre-selected images, stats, reference images, and supporting visuals.
    • Clear, detailed revision notes.
    • Creative freedom to implement your vision as long as it fits the style & direction of the channel.
    • Direct communication with the main editor and founder.
    • Bring creative direction and ideas while implementing our visual concepts throughout videos.
    • Take ownership of video graphics and effects from start to finish, including sound effects where needed. You may adjust visuals, music, or other elements to better fit your effects, and ensure the final cut is polished for release.

    Ideal Candidate:

    • MUST BE AN EXCEPTIONAL ANIMATOR VISUAL EFFECTS ARTIST.
Strong proficiency in After Effects, Blender, or other animation tools.
    • Follows the NBA closely and understands current trends, analytics, and advanced stats.
    • Comfortable interpreting data from Basketball Reference, Cleaning the Glass, Stathead, and other sources.
    • Has a creative mindset with the ability to conceptualize and execute visually compelling work.
    • Thinks like a visual storyteller, not just an asset builder.
    • Comfortable working from timelines with VO, pacing, and music already established.
    • Able to work independently and handle multiple projects at once.
    • Detail-oriented and able to revise based on feedback.
    • Understands YouTube loudness standards and audio balancing tools, including LUFS normalization, EQ, compressors, and noise gates
    • Understands pacing, tone matching, music integration, and how frequent music switches and SFX drive momentum while keeping a cinematic tone.
    • Takes ownership of final polish as the end video editor, proactively fixing small issues before delivery.

    Other:

    • Knowledge of NFL or tennis is a plus, but not required
    • No flashbangs, over-blurred visuals, or stat clutter. Visuals must be clean, clear, and night-mode friendly since our viewer watch our videos in the evening.

Lockdown K Thumbnail Designer/Ideator Job Description:

Hello I am looking for a thumbnail designer to join my team over here at Lockdown K. I am looking for someone who can create eye-catching thumbnails for my basketball YouTube channel and bring their creative vision to the table.

I want someone who can look at my current thumbnails, understand the style, and make it even better. You should be able to take unfinished ideas and turn them into cool, click-worthy thumbnails that stand out or come up with your own ideas based off the video idea.

Note that I'm looking to establish a recognizable theme for my channel - I really like how creators like Fern, James Jani, Alvini Linguine, and Patrick Cc: have thumbnails that are instantly recognizable as their own, and I want that same kind of originality for Lockdown K.

    Responsibilities:
Create thumbnails that grab attention and fit my channel's vibe (starting at 1-2 thumbnails a month)

Come up with multiple thumbnail concepts for each video

Deliver high-quality designs that help establish my channel's unique look

Meet deadlines consistently to match my upload schedule

My budget is $100-$250 per thumbnail depending on complexity and quality

If you're good with creating titles too, I can pay extra for that

    Ideal Candidate:
Is a passionate basketball fan and regularly watches basketball content on YouTube (helpful but not needed if your creative thought works with what I am looking for)

Has experience creating thumbnails that make people want to click

Can see what I'm doing with my thumbnails and take it to the next level

Is creative and can come up with thumbnail ideas on their own

Can turn in work on time

Is self-driven, with a commitment to quality, punctuality, and fluency in English (native proficiency preferred but open to just being fluent)

Knows how to use Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar design tools
