The Alberta Craft Council is seeking board members to fill up to 4 vacancies on our Board of Directors. If you are interested in a position on our Board or one of our committees please fill out the expression of interest form. The deadline for expressions of interest is May 15, 2025. Submissions are reviewed by our Board nominations committee.
The Alberta Craft Council Board of Directors meet 6 times per year over zoom to encourage participation from across the province. The preferred term of office of a Director shall be a maximum of three (3) years from the date that they assume office. The board may adjust the duration or end date of a director’s term to ensure a rolling turnover of directors and other considerations. A member who has served two (2) consecutive terms as a Director must remain off the Board of Directors for a period of one (1) year before seeking re-election to the Board.
Board members are required to hold a voting membership of the Alberta Craft Council at the time of their appointment and throughout their term. (General, Professional, Emeritus)
The Alberta Craft Council is recognized as a vibrant partner in Alberta’s Cultural landscape, together with artists, supporters and the public we connect to amplify and celebrate Culture in the Making. As a charitable non profit and one of 9 Provincial Arts Service Organizations we represent Craft artists and the Craft Sector in Alberta.
As a provincial organization it is important that our board represents us geographically, we are currently prioritizing new board members in the following regions: Calgary, Northern Alberta, Central Alberta, and Southern Alberta.
We have also identified key priorities for our organization and are looking to add new board members with skill sets that can contribute in areas of Fund Development and Strategic Partnerships (including Corporate Engagement, Corporate Sales, Donors and Sponsors, and Fundraising initatives), Board Governance, and Financial.
Those from other regions and skill sets that have not been identified as priorities are also welcome to submit an expression of interest.
