MAHONING COUNTY JUNIOR FAIR ROYALTY GUIDELINES
Goal:
The goal of the Mahoning County Royalty Award is to provide an opportunity to recognize outstanding youth who are passionate about positively promoting all aspects of the Mahoning County Junior Fair Program.
Guidelines:
- Applicants must be between the ages of 15 - 18 years of age as of January 1 of the current year.
- Applicant must be an active member of at least one of the youth organizations involved in the Mahoning County Junior Fair but are not required to be directly and/or currently involved in Junior Fair activities: 4-H, Boy Scouts, Camp Fire, Farm Bureau, FFA, Girl Scouts, and Grange
- Youth must have a strong desire to promote the Mahoning County Junior Fair.
Application Requirements:
- Complete online application. Application can be found under awards at www.mcjrfair.com.
- Applicant must upload a head shot photo of himself/herself into the online application which will be used for media purposes.
- Applicant must contact a youth organization advisor or leader of 4-H, Boy Scouts, Camp Fire, Farm Bureau, FFA, Girl Scouts, and Grange and request they complete the recommendation form found on the link on the Outstanding Youth page on the website.
- Applications and recommendations must be submitted by Monday, July 22, 2024 as instructed.
Duties:
- Assist with Junior Fair shows and activities at the 2024 & 2025 Canfield Fair until the crowning of the new King and Queen at the following year’s Canfield Fair.
- Promote the Mahoning County Junior Fair Program at a variety of community events, festivals, judging days, and parades throughout the year after being crowned.
Expectations of Mahoning County Junior Fair Royalty:
When representing the Mahoning County Junior Fair:
- Appropriate dress and shoes
- Use of appropriate language
- Be professional on social media.
- Never be afraid to ask questions.
- Include all Royal Court members in all activities and events.
Selections:Applicants will be contacted and scheduled to complete an in-person interview.
Selection of Mahoning County Junior Fair King and Queen will be Youth Day, Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Canfield Fair.
Attire for the Youth Day Ceremony will be formal dress (no suits jackets, no jeans, no shorts
