The Adopter(s) agrees to provide a life-long commitment, comfortable environment, prompt medical attention, proper grooming, and responsible care. This includes keeping this Canine parasite free and up to date with vaccinations, monthly heartworm preventative, proper nutrition, and fresh water available always. PuppyLoveKY does not provide licensing. You will need to check with your local animal control office or your veterinarian for more information on licensing requirements.
If the Canine is ever found to be the victim of abuse or neglect, PuppyLoveKY WILL ASSUME IMMEDIATE POSSESSION AND WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO PURSUE LEGAL ACTION. All monies invested in the Canine thus far will be forfeited by the Adopter(s), and you agree to be responsible for all legal expenses including, but not limited to, attorney’s fees and court costs.
If you are adopting a puppy, it is so important for the puppy’s future to start basic obedience training at home , as well as kennel training. Even if you plan to have your puppy loose while you are away, learning that their crate is their safe space will help in the future if they need to be kenneled at the vet / boarded to minimize stress.
The Adopter(s) agrees to release PuppyLoveKY for all liabilities, damages, or injuries caused directly or indirectly by the Canine. The adopter(s) agrees to release PuppyLoveKY from all liabilities, damages, or injuries from the Canine to any person, animal, or any property whether real or personal. Furthermore, Adopter(s) assumes full liability for any damages or injuries, whether physical or mental, emotional or economic caused by the Canine to any person whether actual or legal, or to any property after receiving and acknowledging possession of the Canine. Although we temperament test to get as much information on every animal's personality and health, we cannot predict how the animal will act for the remainder of its life.
We believe every animal adopted out to be in good health, however young animals particularly are susceptible to viruses and parasites. Adopting a new pet is acknowledgement that you will have ongoing medical expenses throughout your new pet(s) life.
The Adopter(s) is responsible for ALL vet care from this point forward. The Adopter(s) agrees any vet care given after adoption is the Adopter(s) decision and they are financially responsible, not PuppyLoveKY. We are a non-profit organization and the average cost to prepare an animal for adoption is much higher than the adoption fee.
Common conditions that may need to be treated after your pet leaves the foster home include Parasites (worms/ coccidia), fleas, and ear mites. These costs are your responsibility. While in our care their health is strictly monitored , however due to stressful situations under which many of our rescues arrive and the stress from joining a new family there is always a chance an animal is incubating a disease without showing clinical signs.
We recommend a visit to your vet within the first seven days of adoption. We believe these canines to be in good health but cannot guarantee the health of any animal or resume responsibility for any future vet costs.
If vet care is given within seven (7) days of adoption and you decide the pet is not right for you, PuppyLoveKY is not responsible for costs and will only refund you your adoption fee, not the extra vet costs.
The preceding paragraphs contain conditions established to ensure the wellbeing of the Canine, but also to uphold and maintain the reputation that PuppyLoveKY has established. The Adopter(s) agreements will continue for the Canine’s life and PuppyLoveKY will have the right to enforce the agreements.
