Requirements as a Candy/Treat Stations are as follows:
Event Purpose: We aim to provide candy and treats to zoo guests while promoting public safety and family activities in a fun, not-so-scary Halloween environment. This is an excellent opportunity for departments, organizations, and companies to promote their entities while engaging with the community.
Registration:
Complete the registration form by October 11, 2024. Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
Set-Up:
Set-up begins at 10:00 a.m. on the event day. Enter in at the blue tent in the parking lot.
All booths must be ready when gates open at 4:00 p.m.
We recommend bringing a wagon or bin with wheels to transport items from your vehicle to the event space.
Zoo tables, tents, and chairs are very limited and are on a first come first serve. You are welocme to bring your own table, tent, and chairs if needed for your set-up
Location:
Candy/Treat Stations will be set up around the Wildlife Amphitheater, Discovery Picnic area, and the Gertrude C. Ford Education Building.
Station locations are not predesignated.
Zoo animals will not be on display during the event.
Treats:
You must provide pre-packaged treats (e.g., wrapped candy, masks, hand sanitizers, toothbrushes/toothpaste, etc.).
Bring enough treats for 1,000+ zoo guests.
No items will be sold during this event except for the food trucks.
Candy Station:
You are responsible for staffing your booth.
Decorate your space to enhance the festive atmosphere.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for the best decorated station.
Promote your organization with brochures, giveaways, etc.
Contactless Distribution:
Provide a tray or bucket to distribute treats to children without contact.
Clean-Up:
Ensure all areas are cleaned after the event.
Prohibited Items:
For the safety of guests and animals, the following items are prohibited:
Weapons or firearms
Alcohol or drugs
Pets
Bicycles, skate shoes, skateboards, and scooters
Balloons, drones, or flying toys
Glass items
Confetti and silly strings
