The Ontario health premium costs the average taxpayer around $500.00 per year[1]. For a dual income household, this would be around $1000 annually.
The Ontario government already has revenues of $193 billion as of 2023[2]. The government ought to use existing revenues to cover health costs. Many groups have called on the scrapping of the Ontario Health Premium including the Fraser Institute and the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
We the undersigned call on the Government of Ontario to scrap the Ontario health premium.
