We want to get to know you and your family… Longdogia Dachshunds is very committed to matching the perfect family with the perfect puppy, so therefore we ask that you please fill out this Puppy Application with as much detail as possible so that we can get to know you better and get a feel for what you are looking for in your new companion. If you have any questions for us please feel free to ask. We are here for you at all times - for the life of your puppy!

Applications that are lacking in detail, won't be considered. Please take time to answer these questions fully and understand that not doing so will remove you from consideration.

Do you have a color/pattern or gender preference?*

Have you ever owned a Dachshund before? If no, have you done research on the breed? This is a small hunting breed, they dig, bark and have a high energy level. Are you prepared for these breed characteristics in your future pet? *

Do you have experience with potty training a puppy? What method will you be using with this puppy?*

Will your puppy be crated when you are gone or for potty training? Where will your puppy sleep while being potty trained?*

Do you own your home or are you renting? If renting do you have permission to have a dog?*

Do you have a fenced yard? If not how do you plan to exercise your puppy?*

Who will be the main caretaker of this puppy? How much time will your puppy spend alone on a normal day? Where will they spend time while you're away from home?*

Do you plan to have your puppy spayed/neutered? We place our pet puppies with a contract that states when they should be spayed/neutered and what and when to be vaccinated. Are you willing to make your vet aware of the contract and be the puppies/dogs healthcare advocate along with our guidance?*

Do you own other animals? If so what breeds, ages, and are they spayed/neutered?*

Are you interested in doing performance or hunting with this dog?*

Are you interested in conformation showing with the AKC or other clubs?*

Have you ever returned a dog to a breeder or surrendered a dog to a rescue/pound before? If yes, please explain in detail.*

Is everyone in the family in agreement with adding a new family member?*

Please provide us with personal references, these should be people that have been to your home and can speak to how you care for your existing animals, or know your plans for your first dog. *

We'd love to learn about your families lifestyle, hobbies, work, etc. What are your favorite activities/hobbies that the dog will be included in? What's the work schedule of everyone in the home? We want to hear how this dog will fit into your daily life.*

We generally have a waiting list in place, are you willing to wait for a puppy from us?*

Are you willing to travel to TN for your puppy? We do offer meeting you at an airport close to us as an option if flying is necessary.*
