The National Institute for Health Specialties is pleased to call for abstracts for the Emirati Conference on Medical Education 2025.
Themes for abstracts:
Abstracts are invited in alignment with the themes of the Emirati Medical Education Conference 2025 addressing the following areas:
- Use of artificial intelligence in health professions education
- Accreditation and quality of internship, residency and fellowship programs
- Assessment in postgraduate settings
- Specialty training governance and organization
- Regional and international collaboration for postgraduate medical education
- Innovations in the training of health professions education
- Interface of undergraduate and postgraduate health professions education
- Continuous professional development and recognition of prior learning (RPL)
Important dates:
Format of Abstract:
The abstract topics should be related to themes of the conference.
The Abstract should be written in English.
Abstract structure (max 350 words, excluding title and contributor’s details) and should include the following sections:
- Title (max 20 words)
- Introduction
- Objectives
- Materials & Methods
- Findings of the study or main expected implications
- Conclusion
- Key words
- References (max 2, not included in word count)
The Abstract title should be concise and reflective of the subject of the research or inquiry. Abstracts should contain original scientific data collected by the author(s). All reports should be based on work that has already been completed. No studies "in progress" will be accepted. Any established research design or method may be used.
Evaluation criteria
Abstracts will be evaluated and considered for presentation by the Conference Scientific Committee based on the following criteria:
- Degree of relevance to the conference theme
- Clear justification of the study anchored in a gap or need for research
- Sound methodology in line with the research question and objectives
- Originality of the study
- Succinct flow of the results, discussion, and conclusion
- The standard of the abstract language
Abstract submission and notification
All abstracts should be submitted via the abstract portal on the Conference website.
You will be notified of receipt of your abstract by email. If you do not receive an email within few hours of submission or have any additional queries, please contact NIHS@UAEU.AC.AE.
Presentation Format:
Once your abstract is accepted, NIHS will contact you for further information and instructions.
If selected for Short Communication, the details of the presentation will be provided later
If selected for Poster Presentation, follow the below guidelines
- Bring the printed poster summarizing the key issues.
- Poster Specifications: A0 size: 84cm (width) x 118cm (height)
Terms and Conditions
NIHS reserves the right to make the final decision about the abstract acceptance and its scheduling into the program based on topics and time constraints.
All abstracts should be prepared using the abstracts submission guidelines.
Each presenter may submit a maximum of two (2) abstracts.
Abstracts previously presented will not be accepted.
All presenters should register and pay the fees to attend the conference.
A certificate of appreciation will be given to all the presenters to honor their presentation. This is in addition to the attendance certificate that is issued to all participants. Presenters should not use the session as a marketing opportunity for products/equipment
