    VFA Adoption Application

  • Thank you for your interest in adoption. Please note the following considerations:

    • The majority of the dogs are estimated to be around 6 years old. We do not have information on their actual age and medical history. 
    • The dogs are not toilet trained. Considerable time and effort will need to be invested in training. 
    • The financial commitment for pet ownership is high. This includes food, medical expenses, grooming, training etc. Adopters must commit to a comprehensive health check after adoption and to sterilise the dog. The estimated cost for the health check is $500 - $800 and $1000 and above for sterlisation and dental. 
    • Pet insurance may defray some medical cost. However, some insurance companies exclude ex-breeding dogs from coverage. 
    • There will be an adoption fee of $500. This goes into the care, food and medical expenses of dogs at the shelter. 
    • Adopted dogs will need to be licensed with NPARKS (Animal and Veterinary Services)
