    Mawejje Creations is a social enterprise committed to practising what it teaches at all the team, individual and community levels we are passionate about sustainability and are committed to revolutionizing the fashion industry. Our focus is on transforming banana waste and textile waste into valuable materials and sustainable and eco-fashionable products to mitigate challenges in fast fashion and climate change. This simple approach has effectively fueled our growth since we embarked on this journey.

    Mawejje Creations has made substantial strides in promoting sustainable fashion and driving positive impact. Through innovation, we have created eco-friendly fashion products in Uganda. Empowered over 500 banana farmers, providing them with a reliable market for banana fiber and enhancing their income by 30% on average, Reduced textile waste and greenhouse gas emissions by utilizing 114 million tons of banana by-products annually, Repurposed over 50,000 kilograms of textile waste, preventing it from ending up in landfills and reducing greenhouse gas emissions,  Educated more than 1,000 through Hands-On Skills Training, fostering awareness and understanding of sustainable fashion practices with a mission of improving the social and economic status of youth and women in rural and urban communities of Uganda with a vision to revolutionize the fashion industry using plant-based substances and textile waste.

     

     
  • ABOUT WEAVE AND BEYOND TRAINING PROGRAM

    The training is co-sponsored by Mawejje Creations & it’s partners this means that interested trainees are only required to pay only 70% of the 3 months designed training costs and this is handled on a case by case basis. The program aims to relay out and impart hand-ons skills while strengthening the mindset of trainees about the potential of improving their livelihoods through fashion and creatives industry. It seeks to support young people passionate about fashion and creatives, boost the broader national efforts of employment opportunities creation, and foster sustainable social economic development in Uganda, with a particular emphasis on youth and women.

    APPLICATION WINDOW.

    This serves to inform interested trainees that the Application window opened on 1st July, 2024 and it will close on 31st July, 2024. Pending acceptance into the program, the training is slated to start on Monday 5th August, 2024 at our premises in Kasangati Town Gayaza Road, MJ Plaza RM B07 Opposite Kasangati Police station.
