PURPOSE
Flood and disaster recovery – to provide financial assistance to veterinary clinics impacted by natural disasters. Natural disasters defined as a natural event such as a flood, earthquake, or hurricane that causes great damage.
AWARDS
Up to $5,000 can be issued per grantee for out-of-pocket clinic expenses, which are defined for example, as the actual costs of repairs or cleaning needs due to the clinic being impacted by natural disasters.
VETERINARIAN ELIGIBILITY
- Must be a licensed veterinarian. Preference given to TVMA members.
- Clinic address must be in a declared disaster area.
- Grants are awarded per clinic – not per veterinarian within the clinic. Only one application may be submitted per veterinary clinic. If multiple clinics owned by the same individual(s) are affected, each clinic may submit its own application.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applicants can request up to $5,000 in grant funds. Checks will be payable to the person/entity named in your application. TVMF must be given permission to use the funded project for future recruitment of funds and receive acknowledgement for funding.
DEADLINE
Applications must be received no later than nine (9) months following the disaster.
APPLICATION REVIEW
The TVMF Grants Committee will review all applications. The applying veterinarian(s) must be reachable during the review process in the event of additional questions.

- Detailed invoice/account of damages to the veterinary clinic.
- Photos of damage.
GRANT AWARDS
Notification of grant awards are made directly by the TVMF Chief Operating Officer (COO) and/or appointed designee within five business days (Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays) of receiving the application.
