The CTFI Umpire Committee is pleased to invite you to the 7th Hybrid CTFI National Umpire Course Class C, Saturday January 31st 2026
Course participation and certification:
For the first time this course is open to ALL Ranks as well as parents and supporters who would like a better understanding of the ITF/CTFI competition rules.
However, certification will only be granted to those who are 1st Degree Black Belt holders and higher and minimum 16 years of age.
This course will be presented by the CTFI Umpire Committee via Zoom or and person in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia at the Poco Community Center, 2150 Wilson Ave, Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 6J5

What: 2026 CTFI C certification course
When: Saturday Jan 31 2026 , 8am – 4pm PST / 11am – 7pm EST
Break : 12:00- 12:30pm
Where: This course will be presented via Zoom and in person at Poco Community Center, 2150 Wilson Ave, Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 6J5
Who: Open to ALL RANKS, parents and supporters
Dress: Dobok, (Casual dress for Supporters and parents)
Certification: Certification will be granted to those who are 1st Dan and up & 16 years and older (upon completion of the examination)
Fee: $55 CDN
(We are pleased to offer this course at no charge for those who have registered as a Full Time Umpire at the last 3 CTFI events in 2024 and 2025,
Tournaments include Easterns, Westerms, Nationals ONLY

Course Outline:
Overview of the ITF and CTFI rules for competition
Overview of the roles of Jury President and Center Umpire
Deep dive and hands on application of the role and responsibilities of the Corner Umpires, Equipment Verifier and Jury Members
Certification (Upon completion of the exam with a mark of 75% or higher)

(Nous sommes heureux d'offrir ce cours gratuitement à ceux qui se sont inscrits en tant qu'arbitre à temps plein lors des trois derniers événements CTFI en 2024 et 2025.
Les tournois comprennent UNIQUEMENT les Championnats de l'Est (Easterns), de l'Ouest (Westerms) et le Championnat canadien.
