Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are pleased to inform you about the Government's new scheme commencing from the 2024/25 school year. Under this scheme, all schoolbooks and some core classroom resources for students in Junior Cycle years will be provided directly by our school at no cost to parents/guardians. This initiative is funded by the Government, and we aim to ensure every student has access to the necessary schoolbooks for their education.
As part of this scheme:
- Schoolbooks will be provided free on loan to every student at the start of the school year.
- Schools will communicate any additional classroom resources that are not covered under the scheme, along with the reasons for this. Parents may need to purchase these items or pay a fee for their supply.
Please note:
- Funding does not include digital devices.
- Schoolbooks on loan must be returned in good condition at the end of the school year, at the end of Junior Cycle, when a student gives up a subject, or if the student leaves the school.
To ensure the longevity and reuse of these resources, we ask for your support in helping your child to keep the schoolbooks in good condition.
Agreement
Please read the following agreement carefully, sign, and return it to the school by Wednesday the 21st August 2024.
Agreement:
- I acknowledge that the schoolbooks provided to my child are on loan and must be returned in good condition as specified by the school.
- I understand that I am responsible for ensuring these schoolbooks are kept safe and in good condition.
- I agree to pay for the replacement of any lost or damaged books.
- I understand that this scheme does not cover the cost of digital devices.
