Hosted Event or Engagement Day

Please complete this form to request funding for expenditure for over £250.

Please note the charity will not fund anything retrospectively including anything that has already been ordered or purchased. Please ensure you do not spend any money prior to getting approval for a grant first.

Grant applications will only be considered when they have been seen and accepted by your line manager/divisional director and evidence to support the costs has been attached. Missing or incorrect information will cause a delay to a funding decision and may not be granted.
Tips to help with completing the form
- Read through the application form first so that you are aware of what information you will need to complete it.
- You can save the form which will email you a link so you can come back to it later.
- Keep the application simple, include key points and ensure your figures add up.
- Please note we may not be able to further consider your application if there is insufficient information provided.
- If using acronyms, please explain what they are for the first time so that we know what they mean.
- Ask someone who isn’t involved with the project/funding request to read the application - does it make sense? Can they identify the key points?
  
  If you wish to draft an application, there is a 'Save and Continue Later' option at the end of the form, HOWEVER this will only allow you to save one draft at a time (everytime you save a draft, it will overwrite what you did previously). If you wish to make more than one application and save drafts, please contact us at grants@bwhospitalscharity.org.uk for a draft form before using this platform.

Alternatively, you can upload a screenshot or document of approval from your line manager. Failure to provide your line manager's approval will mean we cannot proceed with the application.

Hosted Event or Engagement Day Information

This section is only for hosted events, including staff training/engagement days. Engagement days can contain a 'team building' element but must also show an agenda where there is discussion to improve the service.

If you want to request funding for meetings/conferences/accredited qualifications, please return to the intro page and reselect the type of funding you'd like to request.

Please note we cannot fund catering/refreshments alone and the charity cannot contribute towards the cost of alcohol.

Impact of the event
Please explain the impact of this event on attendees. It is important for the charity to be able to establish the impact of its grant-making.
It is important for the charity to be able to establish the impact of its grant-making. Therefore, we would like some indication as to how this event will impact those attending. This could be their wellbeing, expanding knowledge, etc.
Will the impact of this event have beneficial effects on patients and the Trust as a whole? If so, please explain how and whether the impact will be long-lasting and how this will be measured.
Please explain your answer. If yes, then how will this be demonstrated? It is important for the charity to be able to explain the impact of its grant-making. If no, explain why not.
What will the public perception be of this event? Grant applicants should be mindful when applying for a grant for this type of event and consider the public perception test.
Applicants must remember that funds are donated to the charity by the public and therefore it is very important to be mindful of how the public may perceive an event being funded by money they have donated.
