  • 40 North | Regional Arts Partners Grants

    40 North, in its role as the local arts agency for Champaign County on behalf of the Illinois Art Council Agency and the National Endowment for the Arts, announces that applications for the Regional Arts Partners Grants are now available to local artists. Applications should be submitted electronically by January 12, 2026 for projects to be completed by July 29, 2026. A total of four artists will be awarded grants of $2800 each. 40 North will host workshops for prospective applicants in person as well as via Zoom. Applicants must live or work in Champaign County, Macon County, or Vermillion County.
  • Guidelines

  • The independent Grant Review Committee has determined the following list of priorities, in order of importance, with which they will determine the ranking of applications. Please address these carefully in your application. ONLY PROJECTS TO BE COMPLETED BY July 29, 2026 MAY APPLY.

    • artistic excellence
    • addressing underserved individuals
    • overall representation of our local community
    • ability to complete the proposed program

    Funding Priorities:

    • The clarity in the description of the project
    • The degree to which project fulfills its purpose
    • The quality of planning and implementation

    Budget:

    • Balanced proposed budget page
    • Evidence of any in-kind contributions
    • Evidence of any additional and alternative funding sources 

    Completeness of Application:

    • All requested information provided by the deadline 
    • Prior grant final report or progress report submitted

    The following items are not eligible for funding as explicitly stated in the 40 North's Grant Agreement with the Illinois Arts Council Agency: Capital expenditures, out-of-state touring, scholarships, programs already directly funded by the Illinois Arts Council or the National Endowment for the Arts, projects that are part of the curriculum of schools/colleges/universities, completion of previously funded projects, fundraisers or benefits, and deficit funding.
