If you feel called to make a difference in our parish by volunteering during Sunday Morning Religious Education (SMRE) or other children's and teen programming, we welcome you.
We envision at least two dedicated adults and one enthusiastic high school Catechist in each SMRE class. A High School Catechist will complete the 1-year Leadership & Discipleship Program before acting as a Catechist.
Volunteer Opportunities
**SMRE Catechist:** Step into the rewarding role of leading and teaching one of our classes on Sunday mornings when in session. We envision at least two dedicated adults and one enthusiastic high school Catechist in each SMRE class. A High School Catechist will complete the 1-year Leadership & Discipleship Program before acting as a Catechist.
**Grades 6 to 8 and High School Catechist:** Join us in guiding a small group of youth as they embark on their faith journey. Our goal is to have at least two supportive adults and one high school helper in each class.
**Sunday Morning Volunteers:** Contribute to the success of our programs by assisting with vital tasks, such as greeting and checking in students, delivering materials, and providing extra help for special projects. These rotating volunteers come together in groups of 2 to 6 and typically serve every 4 to 6 weeks, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
**Special Events Volunteers:** Lend your talents and time at various cherished events throughout the year, including the First Reconciliation and Holy Communion Retreats and Confirmation Day of Reflection and Retreats.
We believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment, so all catechists and volunteers must complete the Archdiocese's Safe Environment Training.
**Completing this training is essential for participation!** Your involvement can spark inspiration and growth in the lives of many.

We will be asking our member families of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi with children in preschool through grade 8 for a moderate fee of $25 per child to help cover the costs of faith formation supplies. The actual cost per student is approximately $100, and we are pleased to provide resources to cover the majority of these expenses. The maximum fee for any member family will not exceed $60.
Please note that these fees are not intended to create a financial hardship or prevent your family from participating in our programs. If you have any concerns, please reach out to us so we can assist you in any way at cbyers@ss-fc.org.
Additionally, families who are not registered members of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi and wish for their child to participate in our SMRE programs are welcome; however, they will be charged a $150 registration fee to cover their expenses.
