  • Principle Function:

         To accommodate the continued growth of Cowee Baptist Church and the increasing demand on our current staff, we are hiring an intern. The primary function of this intern will be to assist in the Audio Visual/Production and Tech ministry, as well as other ministries of Cowee, based on the interests and giftings of the internship candidate.

  • Frequently Asked Questions:

    What is the length of internship? The internship lasts 6 months with eligibility for renewal. The general standard length of the internship is 12 months, but it cannot exceed two years as determined by the personnel committee. The personnel committee may terminate the internship prior to 6 months at its discretion.

    Who should apply? This internship is designed for men and women who feel called to church ministry. If you desire to be challenged in an environment centered on the gospel, we’d love for you to apply.

    What are the hours and is it paid?  The intern is expected to work 10-20 hours per week, depending on the applicant's availability and as approved by the personnel committee. The schedule will be determined by the intern and the pastoral staff. This position is paid.

  • Requirements & Expectations:

    • Must be a professing, baptized believer exploring a call to vocational ministry.
    • Adherence to the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message.
    • Abstain from alcohol and any other behavior that could be a stumbling block or bring reproach upon the Christ or His bride, the church.
    • Maintain confidentiality.
    • Practice good stewardship with the church’s resources.
    • Submission to the leadership of the pastoral staff and personnel committee while demonstrating humility and respect toward lay leaders and the congregation.
    • 10-20 hours of assigned ministry work per week in addition to regular attendance at Sunday morning worship services and Wednesday evening services. If the intern has an additional job, priority must be given to the church in the scheduling of work hours.
    • Must take part in the Cowee Residency 2.0 Program during internship.
    • Provide technical support for worship services and events.
    • Provide support, resources, and work with the student ministry to facilitate Wednesday Student Worship.
    • Assist with covering the front desk in times the Care Pastor is away.
    • Be present at all church-wide functions and participate in the educational and worship programs of the church.
    • Perform other responsibilities assigned by the Personnel Committee and/or the pastor.
    • Complete background check and other safety training if selected as a candidate.
