Please complete this form no less than 4 weeks before the requested period of absence is due to begin, except for Medical appointments. In line with Section 7 of the Education Act 1996 Avanti Park School (APS) is committed to maximising educational opportunities and achievement for all pupils. The law requires that parents ensure all children of compulsory school age attend school during term-time. We regard any unnecessary absence as educationally detrimental. You may incur a fine from the Local Authority for taking holiday in term time. However, we do recognise that, from time to time, exceptional family or other circumstances do occur. In such circumstances, a pupil's request for absence may be granted after consultation with the Principal and teaching colleagues.
