Conditions of booking
There is a 10% non-refundable booking fee provided more than a week's notice of cancellation is given, 50% is charged with less than a week's notice and there is a 100% booking fee cancellation the day before.
As a trampers transport, we have more than the average challenges with weather, road, and track closures. Often DOC recommends that trampers cancel or amend walking dates on the track due to weather or track changes. If we can change a booking at no additional cost there are no cancellation penalties, but if we are committed on that journey to drop off and pick up trampers, the booking conditions will apply.
There is an additional small charge for airport pick-ups and drop-offs; free outside perimeter (10 mins walk).
Booking conditions commence from the date of the first trip and thereby include all trips from that date.
Please note:
There is no eating or drinking on board the transport. Be prepared for a direct trip unless necessitated by the driver to keep his legal hours. Before departure please make sure that you have made the necessary comfort requirements, ie food, drink, and toiletries. Allow for plane delays before pick up. On request, the driver will stop for a quick toilet stop at the nearest possible convenience. If however, a member of the party is late, has forgotten a vital foodstuff or piece of equipment, or for whatever reason, then a stop will be charged a minimum of $30 for up to 20 minutes, or $1 per minute thereafter. If you know before booking that you wish for a supermarket or a coffee stop, please let us know when booking by ticking the box and location in comments. For long journeys (over three and half hours) there will be a half hour break included in price.
Conditions of booking for carriage of bikes and luggage:
Provided that a trip is booked, carriage of packs is free to the location. If trampers book on our services they can have their extra luggage (clean clothes) stored or couriered to their accommodation or brought to the track end, there will be a small charge for this service. All bags must be labeled with name, destination, and date of pick up. For bike carriage there is a small fee for the time loading and unloading (by owner) and bike rack and tie-down usage. Please note that though care is taken, transport of items is at the owner's risk and the business is not liable for loss or damage.
Please also note that we try to be on time, but under the nature of this business we cannot predict every hold-up and therefore cannot guarantee to be on time, every time. Please make sure you leave plenty of time to catch flights or other scheduled departures. We would really appreciate being forewarned of flights or other onward journeys on the same day.
Additional conditions for charter trips.
When booking a charter trip with less than 5 persons, we will try and find others to contribute their fares towards your charter provided no additional mileage, time or expense is involved, and less a 10% booking fee to cover admin costs of each additional fare to make up the minimum 5 fare requirement. For trips advertised on the "Existing Trips " page (to subsidize a chartered trip), a minimum 50% cancellation fee will be charged if other persons are booked on the back of the charter at the time of cancellation (even with more than a weeks notice). We require you to apply for the refund after the transport has finished. Though we try to be flexible as possible, these bookings rely on stability and therefore we adhere to the booking conditions set out clearly before and after the booking. If however you make changes, depending on the circumstances we may choose to cancel the original booking and then rebook afresh which will involve extra costs for the new trip. We offer charter trips as a service so that people can book specific trips to suit what they want and advertise to try and get others on board to cover costs. This requires a fair bit of juggling and administration work for our business and we do our best to sort challenges as they arise (eg weather, injuries, road and track closures, cancelled flights etc), but for those who cannot make the specified time we try put them on a later trip if possible.
