Thank you for submitting documents, agreeing to be interviewed or writing a letter of reference for a Litigant/Parent in a child custody evaluation. It should be disclosed that none of the information you share will be confidential with the exception of the child's psychotherapist. The reason for this is the evaluator may include in their report some of the information you have shared, and the parties, judge and attorneys have the right to understand where the information came from
If you have reasons to omit your home address that is permissible however it should be understood the information you provide may become part of a child custody evaluation and although the evaluation is a protected/private document that cannot be seen by the public, the litigants, the judge and the attorneys will be given a copy.
In other words, there is no "off the record" component of the information you provide. You should discuss with the evaluator any concerns or questions you have before being interviewed, submitting documents or writing a letter of reference. Your signature indicates you understand the terms of this agreement.
