Pitch Slam Overview
The Brewbound Pitch Slam is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and build awareness for startups making beer, cider, hard seltzer, kombucha, THC-infused and other malt/wine-based alcoholic beverages. The competition will be hosted in-person on the Brewbound Live stage in Marina del Rey on December 11 +12. This is an opportunity for new brands to gain awareness amongst the industry and share their plans with judges who can help take their business to the next level.
Selection Process
Brewbound staff members will select finalists based on the strength of their applications. Decisions by the selection committee are final. The application deadline is Friday, November 1st @ 5PM ET.
Format
On December 11th, each of the semifinalists will have 2 minutes to present live on stage to the judging panel. Feedback from the judges will follow each presentation. The judges will announce the six finalists at the end of the day.
On December 12th, each of the six finalists will have 5 minutes to present live on stage. Q&A with the judges will follow each presentation. The judges will deliberate and announce a winner at the end of the event.
Important Note: You will be pitching to a live audience and your pitch will also be live-streamed and recorded.
Prize
In addition to the distinction of being named the Brewbound Pitch Slam Winter 2024 Winner, the winning brand will be awarded an industry awareness advertising package on Brewbound.com valued at $10,000.
Applicant Criteria
Companies must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Brand produces beer, hard seltzer, hard cider, hard kombucha, THC-infused and/or RTD wine-based products.
- Companies are generally under 5 years old, including pre-launch, but tenured companies looking to scale will also be considered.
- Company must be in good legal and financial standing (e.g. not in bankruptcy protection).
- Company must be focused on the United States as its primary target market.
- Must be able to provide samples of one or more styles. This must be packaged in a bottle, can, growler or crowler (no draft).
Participation Requirements
- At least one founder must be at Brewbound Live to present in-person and on stage.
- Presenters should plan to stay for the entire two-day event, which takes place on December 11+12 in Marina del Rey, CA.
- Participants are responsible for travel and accommodation expenses.
- Participants must be available for a 30 minute webinar prior to the in-person competition.
