  • Applications open June 2, 2026, for five public seats and one alternate position on the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta National Heritage Area Advisory Committee. All incumbents are eligible to reapply.

    The NHA Advisory Committee provides the Delta Protection Commission with recommendations for policy, process, and governance in implementing the NHA Management Plan (PDF) and acts as ambassadors to the diverse partners and communities in the NHA.

    Committee members are expected to attend four quarterly in-person meetings per year, which are held in and around the NHA (see boundaries below) at rotating locations.

    Members serve three-year terms, so the appointee's terms will expire in September 2029.

    Applications close at 5 p.m. July 20, 2026. The Delta Protection Commission is expected to appoint Committee members at its Sept. 17, 2026, meeting, and members' terms will begin immediately.
