What is All Star Cheer?

All Star Cheer is a competitive sport that involves boys and girls performing a routine composed of tumbling, stunting, pyramid, and dance. Teams are scored against other competitive teams at various local, regional, national, and worldwide competitions. 

Not only does All Star Cheerleading set up athletes for a lifestyle of healthy physical choices, it also allows the athletes to understand teamwork, organizational skills, time management, leadership skills and other attributes to prosper in the real world.

Teams are formed based on age, skill level and the total talent pool that is present during the evaluation period. Athletes are placed on teams based on progressions of skills commonly performed in cheerleading and that are developmentally appropriate for the age of the competitor. From beginner to the most experienced athlete, we consider the skills of each child that comes to us for placement and design teams so that everyone has the opportunity to participate and succeed.

Beginners are always welcome!  We always like to say, "You don't have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great!"

What is the Difference Between Elite, Prep and Novice Teams?

Practice Times / Length of Season:

Elite: Elite Mini, Youth, Junior, and Senior teams practice June 10, 2024 – May 31, 2025.  Elite teams consist of two 2-hour practices per week, and athletes are also required to attend at least one tumbling class per week.   Flyers are required to attend flyer class.  Tumbling and flex classes are included in your tuition. Elite teams will attend six regular season competitions. Elite mini and youth teams will attend one post season event.  Elite junior and senior teams will attend two post season events.  *Post season events are based on bids.

Prep: Prep practices will start June 10, 2024-April 30, 2025.  Prep teams consist of two 1-hour practices per week, and are also required to attend one hour of tumbling per week. Tumbling is included in your tuition.  Prep teams will attend three regular season competitions and one post season competition.  *Post season events are based on bids.

Novice: Novice practices will start September 9, 2024 – March 31, 2025, but summer skill and tumbling classes are highly recommended. Novice teams consist of two 1-hour practices per week, and we recommend athletes attend one hour of tumbling per week. (Added $25 fee for tumbling classes per month) Novice teams will attend three regular season competitions.  Practices will be Monday and Wednesday 4:30-5:30 p.m.

 

Routines:

Elite: 2½-minute routine. Scored and ranked against other teams in their division.  Eligible for postseason bids and events.  Mini and youth elite teams will attend US Finals.  Junior and senior teams will attend US Finals and D2 Summit.  (Pending bids)

Prep: 2-minute routine. Scored and ranked against other teams in their division. Prep teams will attend US Finals as their post season event. 

Novice: 1½-minute routine. Scored and given a ranking of outstanding, excellent, or superior, but not officially ranked against other teams in their division. Novice teams do not attend postseason events.

 

Crossovers

If you are interested in being placed on more than one team, additional fees will be assessed.  (Costs listed later in this packet.)  Placement on multiple teams is to the discretion of the coaching staff.  You may cross to the following teams based on age and ability...

Novice - may cross to a second novice team, prep or elite teams

Prep teams - may cross to a second prep team or novice only

Elite teams - may cross to a second elite team or novice only

What Competitions Will You Attend?

 

Although we have a tentative competition schedule, there could be slight changes based on the event producer or conflicts within our own schedule.  The competition schedule will be final by the end of the summer.

Stay-to-play events must have hotels booked through Team Travel Source (Varsity).  The gym will block rooms for your convenience, or you may choose your own rooms from the Team Travel Source website.  This is a requirement to book hotels through Team Travel Source for stay-to-play events.

How Do You Place Athletes?

Athletes are placed on teams by age and skill level.  

When being evaluated for a team, the question that you need to ask is…. has my child  “truly mastered” the level?  Is my child at the high end of that level, therefore being able to fully participate in every aspect of a routine? 

Yes, there will be exceptions; i.e. a back spot that is needed for a higher level stunt to go up or a small elite flyer that is needed for an elite stunt—however, those are few and far between.

Has your child mastered the level?  Can they do the hardest stunt?  Can they be center dancer?  Can they be front row of  jumps?  Can they be last tumbling pass? Are they physically, AND more so mentally ready to move up?

Remember It is normal and recommended for athletes to do more than one year on a level to be successful and well rounded.

While you might not always agree with placements, please trust that the staff does their best to make sure each athlete has a role and we have the best interest in making the teams successful.

 

 

 

What Are Some of the Costs Associated with All Star Cheer?

Monthly tuition:

All accounts are required to have a credit card or checking account on file as a back-up funding source.

Tuition is due on the 1st of every month. 

You may sign-up for autopay.  Autopayments will be run on the 1st of the month.

If you do not have autopay, your backup funding source will be charged if payment is not received by the 5th of the month.

Backup payments that are declined or tuition not paid will be charged an additional $25.00 on the 10th of the month.

Athletes over 30 days delinquent will be benched until account is current.

Elite: $144 per month ($45 registration fee due 6/1/24).  
Prep: $114 per month ($45 Registration fee due 6/1/24).
Novice: $99 per month ($45 registration fee due 9/9/24)
$25 per additional team / class per month.
Siblings: 20% off monthly tuition within the All-Star Program.

USASF

All athletes must be members of USASF.  (usasf.net)  Athletes should be registered no later than 8/1/24.  You will need a copy of your athlete's birth certificate for age verification.

Uniform / Practice Wear / Hair / Makeup / Shoes

Elite / Prep Uniform: (purchased through Booster)  You do have the ability to fundraise for your uniform for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 season.  Uniform is approximately $495, and is used for two seasons.  A 50% deposit is due to Booster by 6/15/24.  Final payment is due 9/1/24.  Uniforms will not be distributed until balance is paid in full.

Novice Uniform:  You do have the ability to fundraise for your uniform for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 season. Uniform is approximately $249, and is used for two seasons. A 50% deposit is due to Booster by 10/1/24.

 Practice Wear: Novice is not required to purchase practice wear.  It is optional, and available in our boutique.

Hair Accessories: $25 bow

Make-up: (purchased on your own) A make-up tutorial will be posted with recommendations.  

Shoes: (purchased on your own) All white low top or high top cheer shoe.  No brand preference.  (Omni Cheer, Amazon, Rebel Athletic, Nfinity or Varsity are a few places you can order shoes.)

 

Booster Club (All Star Cheer Booster):

Covers uniform, choreography, music, competition registrations, and other related expenses. Fees are estimated until season specifics are finalized.

You may fundraise up to 75% of your Booster dues.  The totals below are tentative based on estimated costs.  Payment plans are available.  Any amounts not fundraised will move into your out of pocket expense.

Novice: $500 (Fundraise up to approximately $375, $125 out of pocket), plus an estimated $249 for the cost of the uniform (fundraise 100% of the uniform.)

Reminder: Uniforms will not be distributed until paid in full.

Crossovers: Crossovers will have additional competition fees.  Crossovers are allowed to fundraise 100% of crossover fees.
