CCP- Shelby Bulut Scholarship Application
About: This education scholarship is in honor of Shelby Bulut, a lifelong learner, educator, volunteer, and supporter of community connections. She believed deeply in the transformational power of education and the worth and meaning of giving back to one’s community. This scholarship is intended to support those in pursuit of either high school education completion or college education or completion. Details for the scholarship are below, and CCP reserves the right, through the approval of the Scholarship Committee to award the scholarship on a yearly basis. Applications must be resubmitted on a yearly basis for continued consideration.
Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship is for those either just entering high school, in high school, just starting or applying to college and already in college, whether for undergraduate or graduate work. Proof of residency and school documents or acceptance letters are required to demonstrate which phase in educational pursuit the applicant is currently, at the time of the application submission.
Application Requirements:
1) A GPA of 2.5 or higher for either high school or college. (Unofficial transcripts are acceptable). GPA must be maintained for the duration of the scholarship.
2) Letter of Recommendation from at least one current or former teacher (though 2-3 are recommended)
3) Community and Civic Engagement- applicant needs to have connected with at least one community group for at least one year prior to the application submission. (Proof of this may be done with a letter from the organization for which you serve and volunteer). Some form of community work and engagement must also be maintained for the duration of the scholarship.
4) One page letter describing any obstacle the applicant has faced and how it was overcome. (typed or handwritten)
5) Applications must be complete and received by: November 16, 2024. (electronic submission)
**This scholarship is intended for those with serious intent to pursue excellence in both their life as an active community member (civic engagement, volunteerism) and in their educational pursuits.
