    Regulated Registrants interested in serving as an appointed Council member must submit this application during the open application period.
  • Introduction

    The Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists is responsible for regulating the practice of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists in Alberta. Under the Health Professions Act, the College ensures that the public has access to qualified, skilled, and competent CLXTs. As a Council member, you will have the rewarding opportunity to contribute to the regulation of the profession and ensure CLXTs provide safe, ethical, and competent care.

  • About your application

    This application is your opportunity to share why you are a strong candidate for a position on the College's Council. This application will be used to assess your suitability to serve, and your provided responses should demonstrate how your skills, competencies, and experience align with the mandate of the College to protect in the public interest.

  • Eligibility

    To be eligible to be appointed to the College Council, an applicant must:

    • Be a regulated Registrant in good standing on the general register and hold a valid CLXT practice permit.
    • Be up to date on their Continuing Competence Program requirements.
    • Not have any outstanding fees or fines with the College.
    • Not be serving as an officer or senior employee of a professional association (such as the CSCLXT or SACLXT) or a labour union that represents CLXTs.
    • Not have current or past criminal or civil matters that would be considered harmful to the integrity or reputation of the Council, College, or the CLXT profession.
    • Not have any current or past findings of unprofessional conduct by the College.

    • Sign and abide by the Council's Oath of Office.
    • Sign and abide by the Councillor Confidentiality and/or Non-Disclosure Agreement.
    • Be prepared to immediately declare any personal (real or perceived) conflict of interest that may arise during your term.
    • Understand that if you become an officer or senior employee of a union or professional association representing members of the College, that you are not eligible to continue to serve and your appointed term will be terminated.
    • Make yourself available to attend onboarding training at a date and time specified by the College.
    • Attend scheduled meetings and come prepared.
    • Foster a positive and respectful environment among Council members. Engage with colleagues courteously, value their perspectives and contributions, and strive to support collaborative and constructive dialogue.
