Calling all Manchester musicians!
What We Are Looking For:
- A skilled musician with a focus on folk/Americana music.
- A vibrant stage presence & engaging performance style.
- A strong connection to Manchester & a commitment to celebrating our Town's cultural arts.
- A current Manchester resident
Selection Process:
- Submit a video and resume showcasing your musical talent by August 15, 2024.
- Finalists will be notified by August 31, 2024.
- Participate in a live competition on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at WORK_SPACE, 903 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040.
- The winner will be chosen by a distinguished panel of judges that evening.
Video Submission Instructions:
- Deadline: August 15, 2024, at 11:59 PM
- Content:
- Introduction: Include a short introduction stating your name, musical background, and connection to Manchester.
- Performance: The core of the video should be a performance showcasing your musical talent.
- Genre: Ensure your performance aligns with the Commission's desired genre, folk/Americana.
- Originality: The video should showcase original music. Ensure you own the rights to use all music & images on the video.
- Song Length: 3-5 minutes
- Appropriate Content: Ensure your video does not contain inappropriate language, images, or sounds.
- Technical Specifications:
- Video Format: MP4 or MOV
- Audio Quality: Ensure clear audio recording
- Size: No more than 1 GB
Resume Submission Instructions:
Upload a Cover Letter or Resume that showcases the following:
- Your history of work as an artist
- Your ability to perform solo
- Your education, training, and professional development
- The instruments you play (but highlight your primary instrument, the one you use most for performances)
- The awards and recognition you have received
