How would you describe your playing level? Please refer to the additional resources linked on our website if you are unsure of your level.
*
Novice - Able to serve, rally and keep score and can sustain short rallies but lacks shot control, accuracy and consistency. 2.5 NTRP rating.
Low Intermediate - Improving shot control and accuracy and can sustain short rallies but still fairly inconsistent. 3.0 NTRP rating.
Intermediate - Dependable shot control and accuracy. Can hit with pace (including serves), employ strategy and hit winners with a variety of shots. This is the level of most former varsity high school players and some college club players. 3.5 NTRP rating.
High Intermediate - Strong shot control, accuracy and strategy, much more reliable shot variety (lobs, drop shots, etc.), comfortable at the net and often hits winners. This is the level of most former college club or varsity players. 4.0 NTRP rating.
Advanced - Very strong shot control, pace, accuracy and variety. Can develop a game plan to compete with any opponent and consistently hit winners. This would be a high-level former college club or varsity player. 4.5+ NTRP rating.
If you selected Novice above, please remember this is a tennis league and you must be ready for matches, including knowing the rules of tennis, where to stand, how to keep score, how to serve, etc. We are happy to help you find a beginner class with instruction if you are not ready to play matches.

I know all the rules of tennis and am ready for matches.
I realized that I am not ready for a league with matches and need some instruction first (please email socialtennis@newengland.usta.com so we can assist you).
