How it works The whistleblower legislation can be complex, and we want to make sure that we provide you with an opportunity to tell us what you've seen or experienced in a dedicated whistleblower channel. You might not know whether what you are reporting is protected or not.
We welcome you bringing anything to our attention, and we will assess it and explain your options.
Remember, even if what you are reporting isn't protected under the whistleblower legislation, we can still offer confidential assistance.
What is not reportable conduct
The AirRoad Whistleblower Policy is not intended to apply to disclosures relating to conduct concerning a person’s individual employment such as:
- personal, work-related grievances such as those relating to harassment, discrimination or disciplinary matters;
- alleged workplace discrimination or bullying;
- personal disputes between staff; or
- decisions regarding the engagement, transfer or promotion of staff
How we deal with the information you provide
We value and assess all reports and information that we receive, but not every matter brought to our attention requires us to take regulatory action such as court action. Any inquiries we make will initially focus on the breaches you have disclosed. What is important is that we get the information you believe relates to potential misconduct so we can assess it.
We will contact you by phone (if you have given us those details) and follow up with you to obtain the information you have. We will keep that information and your identity confidential. However, in very limited circumstances – for example, if a court subpoenas us to do so – we may be compelled to provide it. If this happens we will speak with you about that ahead of time and always seek to protect your identity and disclosure.
Anonymous disclosers When making a disclosure you can elect to either identify yourself or make an anonymous disclosure. By identifying yourself, investigators will have the opportunity to clarify information or gather new information you may have.
Although we take all reasonable steps to reduce the risk of your identity being disclosed, during the investigation, where reasonably necessary, AirRoad may disclose information that might suggest or indicate a whistleblower’s identity.
