At Kristy Music Studios, we know and understand unforeseen circumstances may arise. We strive to maintain a fair and transparent policy that respects both your time and the commitment of our instructors. This policy enables us to effectively manage our schedule and offer the best possible service to all of our students. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our cancellation policy.
All lessons will be paid for in advance.
Termination:
- Students may terminate lessons at any time.
- Monthly Membership tuition model: Tuition is non-refundable for the current month after termination. Monthly drafts will discontinue for the following month.
- Cash in Full tuition model: Unused tuition will not be refunded but can be used toward asynchronous lessons or scholarship donation if applicable.
Missed Lessons:
- Cancellations or missed lessons within a 24-hour window without an emergency excuse ahead of time will not be credited.
- Excused emergency absences include: sickness, adverse weather conditions, or family emergencies.
- If a teacher must cancel, the student will be offered an asynchronous/rescheduled lesson, or tuition credit.
Rescheduled Lessons:
-
Asynchronous lessons (video assignments back-and-forth throughout the week) and Online Lessons (Conducted at the regular lesson time) are great alternatives to absences
-
Students may schedule an unlimited amount of Asynchronous lessons.
-
Students are granted a maximum of TWO rescheduled absences per semester.
- Reschedule requests OUTSIDE of a 24-hour window:
- Emergency Reschedule Requests:
- Complete the Absentee Request Form within 2 weeks from the emergency lesson date.
- Students are allowed ONE emergency recheduled absence per semester.
- Additional emergency absences may be addressed via Asynchronous or Online Lessons.
**ALL UNUSED lesson credits by May 15th, 2026 will be automatically DONATED to the Scholarship Fund.**
Alternative Options to SCHEDULED ABSENCES:
- Donate to Scholarship Fund: Students have the option to donate their missed lesson to the Scholarship Fund, contributing to the musical education of aspiring students in need. Funds are allocated to students on an as-needed basis, and as requested. KMS has actively been assisting students with this funding program since 2020.
- Asynchronous Lesson: In cases of unforeseen circumstances within the 24-hour window, we strongly encourage the use of online or asynchronous lessons. (Video back-and-forth lessons are provided during the same week of the missed in-person lesson, ensuring continuity in the learning process.)
We believe that these alternative options not only offer flexibility for canceled lessons, but also contribute positively to the music community as a whole. Thank you for utilizing these alternatives when necessary.
By providing these guidelines, we aim to maintain a fair and consistent approach to lesson cancellations and ensure a positive learning experience for all of our students. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in adhering to these policies and for your continued support and dedication to student musical growth.
