Welcome to Runway Model of the Year!

November will be here before we know it, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you to the Landmark Resort in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina!

This event has been a true labor of love, years in the making—and we’re so glad you’ll be a part of it. Runway Model of the Year has always been a dream project for our director, Kelly Lyerly, a seasoned veteran in the modeling, pageant, and beauty industries. Our inaugural year was nothing short of amazing, and we’re thrilled to make this second year even bigger, better, and bolder!

Optionals are NOT MANDETORY, and have no effect on the divisional and overall titles. Optionals are limitless, contestants can enter as many as they'd like. Models MUST BE REGISTERED FOR MANDATORY COMPETITION IN ORDER TO SIGN UP FOR OPTIONALS.

OPTIONAL COMPETITIONS
 
Photogenic Competition:
$75 per photo OR $200 for Unlimited photos (up to 10)
All images are to be turned in at registration.
Photos should be; 8x10, either in color or black & white, placed in a photo sleeve or envelope with name of model and age printed on the back. (photos will be available for pickup immediately after awards).
 Photogenic Winner will receive new headshots courtesy of, one of our industry professional photographer. 
 
Portfolio Competition (Entry Fee $75):
Portfolio Requirements: 6 to 12 photos compiled in a portfolio book, showcasing a variety of the models’ looks. 
Portfolio Winner will receive a 2 look Photo session, with one of our industry professional photographers.

Practice Interview (Entry Fee $75):
This is the perfect opportunity to practice interview with the judges and receive immediate feedback.
Interview winner will receive Interview lessons with one of our industry professionals.
 
CompCard Competition (Entry Fee $75):
First impressions are everything and this competition encourages models to create a composite card (comp card) that showcase his/her style and personal stats. Comp cards are an excellent way to network, attach to casting opportunities and agency applications.
 CompCard Winner will receive a $250 Cash Prize.

Print Model Competition ( Entry Fee $75):
Come ready to shoot a winning photo and spend time with an industry photographer to capture your winning look. Models must be hair and makeup ready and ON TIME, if models are late their time and opportunity may be revoked as schedules are VERY TIGHT.
Print Model Winner will receive a portfolio building photo session with industry professional.
A $1500 value*

 

Activewear Competition (Entry Fee $75):
Contests will model a Fitness wear of their choosing. outfit must be age appropriate. Contestants will do a basic active wear walk, NO TUMBLING.

Overall Winner will receive a $250 Cash Prize.

Casual Wear Competition (Entry Fee $75):
Each contestant will model a trendy casual outfit, no cocktail dresses. The outfit must be age appropriate and should portray the contestant’s personal sense of style and fashion.
 Casual Wear winner will receive a $250 Cash Prize.

 

Talent Competition (Entry Fee $75):

It’s Time to Shine—Show Us Your Talent!
Whether you sing, dance, tap, play an instrument, or have a unique talent all your own—we want to see it! This is your moment to take the stage, own the spotlight, and wow the judges with what makes YOU special.

Delegates perform a 90 second talent.

TOP 5 Talent winners will be invited to perform during the Optional Award show*

Overall Talent winner will get to perform during the final show, and receive an interview with an Industry casting director.

 

Spokesmodel Competition (Entry Fee $150):
Contestant will present a personal pitch on stage based on Runway Model of the year. Think of this as if you were making a commercial for RMOTY, what would you say in your commercial?

Topic examples:
 why should someone compete in RMOTY?
What awesome experiences can RMOTY Provide you with?

Describe what Runway model of the Year means to you? 

BE ORIGINAL, BE CREATIVE, AND MAKE IT FUN!

Presentation must be between 30 and 60 seconds. Delegates an outfit of their choosing, be trendy.

Overall Spokesmodel winner will receive a Title, an interview with an Industry casting director & the opportunity to promote Giavanna Haircare. Winner will be provided with a Giavanna Haircare giftset, which they can then make a video on & be featured on the official social media.

 

Runway Model of the Year Supermodel (Entry Fee $150):
Combination of ONE photo event & Two stage events. Delegates must enter three of these optional competitions along with Runway Model of the Year Supermodel to be eligible.

Stage Events: Casual Wear, Activewear, Talent, Spokesmodel

Photo Events: Photogenic, Portfolio, Compcard, Print Model

RMOTY Supermodel winner will receive a Title, a photo shoot with an Industry professional, Giavanna Haircare and an interview with an agency rep. 

 

Workshops are not mandatory but are a great educational resource for all our contestants to take advantage of.

Entry Fee: Each Workshop is $75 

 

WORKSHOPS
 
1 Hour Runway Workshop
In this introductory runway workshop models will learn how to perfect their posture, posing and runway pacing, runway skills & techniques,
facial expressions and a signature model walk.
 

Photo Movement Workshop
In this dynamic workshop, models will learn how to master the art of posing and subtle movement—transforming still shots into captivating moments. Guided by industry professionals, you'll explore advanced techniques designed to help you create a confident and natural flow in front of the camera and on set. What you'll learn: Posture Basics, Foot Placement + Angles, Accentuating Your Best Features, Developing A Flow, etc.

 

Industry Training Workshop

This workshop provides contestants and parents with the all the modeling knowledge needed! Contestants will be taught about all the essentials, what to pack in their model bags, how to schedule go see appointments with agents, kinds of photos to submit for consideration, as well as what to expect when working in the industry.

 

Acting Workshop

This interactive workshop is designed to help contestants build confidence, master expression, and elevate their stage presence. Whether you're new to acting or looking to sharpen your skills, this session will guide you through the fundamentals of character development, emotional delivery, voice projection, and improvisation. Led by an experienced instructor.
