POLICY INFORMATION AND CONSULTATION FORM

 

 DEPOSIT AND QUOTES

-Every appointment requires a deposit. Confirmation of appointment will be sent once deposit is received.

-The deposit will be 30% of the quote and must be ready at the time of scheduling. No holds.

- Large projects will be done in 4 hour sessions ($500)

- Large pieces will require multiple sessions. I will not be able to quote exactly how many sessions it will take, but I will guarantee each 4 hour session will be $500.

-Smaller designs will be quoted by piece, working with your budget. I will always break a design into sessions if it’s more affordable for you, however my minimum per session is $80.

-Quotes are valid for 1 month.

 REFUSALS

-I will not tattoo realism, micro tattoos, (most) watercolor, (most) geometric designs, galaxy, or designs that are too small, original script, or white ink tattoos.

-I will not tattoo hate symbols/speech, cultural appropriation (or cultures neither of us are a part of), racist/sexist/homophobic/ableist imagery, gang related/pro police/religious iconography/ 1776.

-I will not tattoo sides of fingers/hands/feet, palms- and most of the time necks and faces. No eyelids, lips, or genitals.

The Macdougal House, on the corner of Fairfield and Wayne. Fulton street is the next street west of Fairfield, there is free street parking.

If you get lost or the door is locked, message me and I’ll come find you! I will give you my number if needed.

PLEASE DO NOT text me unless something comes up the night before or morning of your appointment. I will ONLY communicate through email otherwise.

BOOKING/RESCHEDULING/CANCELLATION/BEING LATE 

-Deposits are NOT REFUNDABLE or transferable (either person or agreed upon design).

-I will reschedule you 1 time if you give me at least 48 hour notice. Otherwise your deposit will be forfeited.

              -The new time and date must be     

                decided within 24 hours of          

                cancellation or the deposit will be 

                forfeited. 
EXCEPTION- Any and all December reschedules will result in the loss of deposit.

 -I will always reschedule for sickness IF YOU LET ME KNOW WELL BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME. As soon as you realize you’re not feeling well please communicate this with me because LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS WILL FORFEIT THE DEPOSIT. 

-Let me know if you’re running late before the time your appointment is going to start. If you don’t communicate and you’re more than 15 minutes late you will lose your deposit and your appointment will be canceled. If you’re communicating that you’re running late I may be able to work around it but there are no guarantees. If I cannot make it work, you will lose your deposit.  If you’ve booked an hourly session and you’re late you will still be charged full price of the session.

-I understand life happens, I will work with you if you work with me, mutual respect and communication is key.

-For projects requiring multiple sessions, one deposit will be taken at the time of booking and will come off at the LAST session (example: three 4 hours session project- $150 deposit, first appt $500, second appt $500, final appt $350)

- NO SHOWS will not only lose their deposit, but will be asked to pay for their missed appointment before they can schedule again. They will not be rescheduled until they pay for their missed appointment. You will be deemed a NO SHOW if you are more than 30 mins late to your appointment, even if you've called to let me know. 

CUSTOM PIECES
-I will not be able to show you your design before your appointment. If you have booked an appointment with me I assume you like my artwork, style and techniques. Minor adjustments you would like to make will be done when you arrive. 

 -If the design has all the elements noted in the consultation/consultation form, a new deposit will be required in the event of a redraw/reschedule.

- If you are still uncomfortable with this policy and would like to pay an extra non refundable fee of $100, I will send you your sketch 24 hours before our appointment. The fee is a separate purchase and is not included in the original price of the tattoo.

MISCELLANEOUS
-Children are not allowed in the studio under any circumstances.

-No minors will be tattooed, ever.

-Don’t forget CASH and your ID.

-Gift Certificates cannot be used for fundraising tattoos.

-Coupons can’t be used on anything already discounted.

-I will give notice if I have to reschedule or cancel, and we will reschedule ASAP- as deposits are not refundable.

-Touchups will NOT be done on weekends.

-Touchups will be $20 or $50 hourly depending on circumstance. No exceptions.

-Touchups require $20 deposit and will not be refunded or rescheduled.

-Touchups will not be scheduled until the tattoo is at least 3 months old.

-I will not tattoo you if you have numbing cream on or have used numbing cream of any kind on the tattoo area within 48 hours.

-Again, absolutely no numbing cream.

-Silent sessions are always welcome, please don’t feel bad if you don’t want to talk. No, I won't think you hate me.

-My booth is a SAFE SPACE.

BEFORE YOUR TATTOO
Make sure no medications you are taking will affect your tattoo (example: accutane/blood thinners) PLEASE call your doctor before your appointment to make sure any skin/heart/ect medications will allow your body to be tattooed.

Hydrate and eat well the day before and of your appointment and get plenty of rest. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks for your appointment.

Feel free to bring your own entertainment, for a silent session if you would prefer. Earbuds, books, or anything else you might like to relax with.

Make sure your skin is free of sunburn/rashes/open cuts/pimples in the area of the tattoo. Moisturizing before your tattoo is a great idea as well.

Wear clothing conducive to any position you may have to remain in for a while. Dress as comfortably as you can, in a way that you can be covered as much as possible with the designated tattoo area fully exposed and unhindered. For example, while getting a sternum piece, you could wear a zip up hoodie with a string bikini underneath so you can remain as covered and comfortable as possible. Another example, if you’re getting your thigh tattooed, think about wearing biker shorts instead of long leggings.

AFTERCARE OF YOUR TATTOO
*If you have a second skin, leave it on for 3 days and do nothing to it. If it leaks or falls off before 3 days, steam it the rest of the way off in the shower and follow instructions from bullet point 2. If the second skin lasts to day 3, steam off in the shower and follow instructions from bullet point 3.

1. Remove the bandage gently and wash with warm water and mild soap After 3 hours. Do not rebandage a tattoo.

2. Apply a thin film of A&D Ointment or Aquaphor 3 times a day for the next 3 days. 3. After 3 days, use an unscented hand lotion like Dermassage or Noxema until skin returns to its pre-tattoo condition.

4.Stay out of sunlight and tanning booths until the tattoo is healed, at least 21 days.

5. Do not soak a tattoo in the tub, sauna, Jacuzzi or go swimming while your new tattoo is healing.   Showers are fine. At least 21 days.

6. Do not rub or pick the treated area while it is healing.   Loss or color and/or infection could occur.    

7. Extreme sun and exposure over the years can and will fade your tattoo.  This can be minimized by using a strong sunscreen, at least SP25.

8. Your tattoo should heal in 2-4 weeks. 

Consult a physician if any signs or symptoms of infection develop such as the following: redness at site, green/yellow discharge (foul smelling) and/or fever.  If you have any worrisome complications or side effects SEE A DOCTOR TO RECEIVE MEDICAL CARE.

ONCE AGAIN, I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL- I CANNOT DIAGNOSE YOU. IF ANYTHING WORRISOME IS HAPPENING TO YOU OR YOUR TATTOO SEE A DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Your health is the first priority. Do NOT follow my after care instructions if a doctor tells you differently. 

Do you have a budget?
*please keep in mind my minimum is $80. I charge $130 hourly or by piece. If you book a half-day session (4 hours) your appointment will be $500. If multiple sessions are needed, each session will be no more than $500. I can not guarantee how long or how many sessions a piece will take, as there are many factors. As far as budget, whatever number you give me I can make work within reason. Splitting up sessions to make a larger project more affordable, is always an option as long as the sessions are at least 1 hour each ($130).
