“Having received Christ as my Lord and Savior and been baptized in a church of like faith and practice, and being in agreement with CityLight’s statements and structure, I now feel lead by the Holy Spirit to unite with the CityLight Church Family. In doing so, I commit myself to God and to the other covenant partners to do the following:”

    • I will protect the unity of my church.

…By acting in love toward other (1 Peter 1:22… a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart)

…By refusing to gossip (Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.)

…By following the leaders (Hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are watching over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning…)

    • I will share the responsibility of my church.

…By praying for its growth (1 Thessalonians 1:2 We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers;)

…By Inviting the unchurch to attend (Luke 14:23 And the master said to the servant, go out to the highways and hedges, and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.)

…By warmly welcoming those who visit (Romans 15:7 Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.)

    • I will serve the ministry of my church.

…By discovering my gifts and talents (1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use into serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:)

…By being equipped to serve by my pastors (Ephesians 4:11-12 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ,)

…By developing a servant’s heart (Philippians 2:3-4, 7…but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. But emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant.)

    • I will support the testimony of my church.

…By attending faithfully (Hebrews 10:25 not neglecting to meet together…)

…By living a godly life (Philippians 1:27 Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ…)

…By giving regularly (1 Corinthians 16:2 On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper…)
