In celebration of VAJANUARY, The Bunker invites people of all ages to submit art inspired by their journey as a womxn presenting human on this planet. The exhibit will take place in January 2025.

As womxn's rights are being stripped away in the so-called “Land of the Free”, The Bunker wants to host a show about the journey of womxnhood in this day and age. In our lifetime we have seen rights we thought were ours to keep be stripped and new laws being put into place to control womxn’s bodies and livelihoods. There is still a huge disparity in many aspects of everyday life for womxn, especially for womxn of color and trans womxn in our society.

One work of art will be selected as the featured piece for the event. The selected piece will be featured on all promotional and marketing materials. The featured artist will receive recognition at the opening reception.

GUIDELINES
Art must be original
Artists may submit up to three (3) works.
Original works in any two-dimensional or three-dimensional fine art medium.
Three dimensional art MUST be able to hang on the wall.
Works must not exceed 30 lbs.
Works must not exceed dimensions of 6’ by 6’.
Works must be ready to hang (professionally framed/wired or gallery wrapped with painted sides).
All works must be made available for sale.

ENTRY PROCEDURE
There are no entry fees to apply.

SALES
The Bunker SLO collects a 35% commission on all sales, and participating artists receive a 65% commission. Planned Parenthood of the California Central Coast will be getting 10% of The Bunkers commission of all sales.

TRANSPORTATION
If chosen for the show, artists are responsible for safe delivery to and timely pickup of work from The Bunker, located at 810 Orcutt Road, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. Drop off and pickup appointments will be announced upon selection.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
All applications are due by November 15th, 2024.
While this is not a juried show we will confirm that work flows within the gallery space and cohesively as a group.

Consent for Photography and Authorization for Publication

I hereby give my consent for photography, filming, videotaping and/or audio recording or other means of capturing my image or voice and/or being quoted in the media or printed materials (including social media and websites) to Planned Parenthood of the California Central Coast and The Bunker SLO.

I authorize the use of such for any of the following purposes:

As part of a public exhibition of photographs or artwork;
As part of a webpage, slideshow video, or other electronic presentation;
As part of an agency publication, such as a newsletter or brochure;
As incorporated in advertising or media outreach on behalf of the agency; and
In other formats that may be viewed or distributed publicly.

I hereby waive any right to compensation for such uses by reason of the foregoing authorization. I and my successors or assigns hereby hold the Planned Parenthood of the California Central Coast, The Bunker SLO and its personnel and affiliated programs harmless for any and all liability which may or could arise from activities authorized by this agreement.

Authorization will expire 12 months after the date of signature of this form. Upon expiration of this Authorization, Planned Parenthood of the California Central Coast and The Bunker SLO will not permit further release of any photography or information, but will not be able to call back any photography or information already released.

I and my successors or assigns may rescind this Authorization up until a reasonable time before the photography, video, or recordings are used, but I must do so in writing.

I have a right to receive a copy of this authorization.
