If you write or produce music for artists signed to any UMG label (Republic, Interscope, Def Jam, Capitol, etc.), this movement is for YOU.
The Songwriter & Composer Guild (SCG) is organizing to demand a livable wage, contract transparency, fair pay for digital streaming, and benefits that reflect our value to the industry. We refuse to be treated as disposable labor when our work powers this entire business.
By signing the SCG union petition, you’re helping us build leverage to win fair contracts, meet industry standards, and provide protections for all music creators.
Your voice matters. Your work is valuable. Let’s claim our power—together.
Update: SCG has officially filed a union election petition with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) under Case No. 31-RC-360979, seeking to unionize songwriters and producers who create songs for Universal Music Group and its labels.
This is a historic first step toward fair pay, rights, and protections—but we need your support to make it happen.
"If at least 30% of workers sign cards or a petition saying they want a union, the NLRB will conduct an election."
