The San Rafael Business Improvement District (BID) would like to invite you to participate in the 4th Annual Downtown San Rafael Hops & Vines Stroll on Saturday, September 21, 2024, 2p-6p. Tasting tickets for attendees will be $35 in advance and $45 on the day of. We are organizing this event to promote the local restaurants, retailers, and businesses in Downtown San Rafael and invite beer and wine enthusiasts to stroll San Rafael streets for an afternoon of fun and tasting. The event will take place on Fourth Street in Downtown San Rafael from Lincoln to the West End Village. There will be no streets closed at any time, sampling will occur inside merchant stores.
HOW DOES THE EVENT WORK? All merchants/businesses who sign up will be placed on a map and there is a small fee to be a tasting location. Attendees will check in at the ticket table in the Court Street Plaza and be given a program with a map of all participating businesses and beverage sponsors, a tasting glass, and a wristband showing that they have been ID’d. Attendees stroll the street, visit the merchants on the map, and sample beer, wine, and cocktails inside the businesses. No alcohol can be consumed on the street. Retail/service merchants will sample beverages that we provided by the SR BID or a Beverage Sponsor. Businesses with existing ABC permits will sample their own beverages (distributors can promote new products).
IF YOU ARE A BUSINESS WITH EXISTING ABC PERMIT – (If you have a type 20 or 21 ABC permit, you cannot participate). You must invite your own brewery/wine rep to pour, we do not provide that for you. We will include your beer/wine rep’s logos on the website and program if desired. We will provide you with the following: a special event ABC (alcohol) permit, inclusion on the event program/map, advertising, signage for the day of, streamers outside your location, swill buckets, staff to drop off and pick up equipment & 2 complimentary glasses and tasting tickets (valued at $70). Before the event, we will need you to fill out a surrender ABC permit just for the area in your location where the event beverages will be served- this document will allow you to have 2 ABC permits at once.
IF YOU ARE A RETAIL/SERVICE BUSINESSES – We supply you with the following: beer/wine for the evening to pour, the special event ABC (alcohol) permit, inclusion on the event program/map, advertising, signage for the day of, streamers, swill bucket, wine opener, staff to drop off and pick up equipment, 2 complimentary glasses and tasting tickets (valued at $70). If you have a brewery or winery that you would like to pour in your store, you can contact them directly and let us know and we will include their logo on the website and in the program.
HOW ELSE CAN MY BUSINESS BENEFIT? Get more exposure by doing one of the following sponsorships: Place your business name/logo on the event poster, postcards, website, and program. Sponsor the wine glasses and have your business name/logo printed on over 500 wine glasses, first come first serve and we also provide you with 10 complimentary tickets, and logo inclusion on the website/ posters/postcards/program. Place a banner up at the Ticket Booth for all to see. Have us put your business cards or coupons in each wine glass for all the ticket holders! You can also do a raffle (no additional cost if you sign up for the event) in your location. Your raffle can work in many ways; we suggest requesting business cards from the ticket holders throughout the event and draw one at the end. No need to be present to win. This is to help build your customer email/contact list. The raffle is not a requirement, just an idea to help build your list. The raffle prize/s are provided by you.
