Thank you for contacting Community Law Waikato for your legal matter. This email gives you information on the service we will provide you.

1.		Terms of engagement
		The terms of engagement tell you the rules we will follow as your lawyers. You can read our terms of engagement here - Terms of Engagement.

2.		Assigned Solicitor
		I am the Solicitor who has been assigned to your file. I have overall responsibility for your file, but other Community Law Waikato staff may also work on your file. Sometimes, we have to change the Solicitor for your file. You will be told if your Solicitor changes.
3.		Authority to Act
		If you have not done so already please follow the link to complete and sign our Authority to Act form.
4.		Legal Aid for Refugee Claimants
	a)	Legal aid may be available for your refugee claim. Legal aid is Government funding to pay for help with the claim process and appeal if necessary.
	b)	We will make an application to legal aid for a grant to pay for your claim.
	c)	Legal aid is a grant. It is not always free. You may be required to repay your legal aid grant and pay a user charge fee.
	d)	If legal aid declines the application, we will provide you with referrals to other refugee lawyers.
	e)	More information is available in the legal aid section of our terms of engagement.
