Buskers in the Burg is an annual celebration of performance art in the heart of Washington State. This event features live street performers, larger-than-life puppets from Blue Bear Puppet Lab, main stage acts, family-friendly activities, and more during at Unity Park in Ellensburg, Washington.
All performers are vetted by the Buskers in the Burg Committee, and busker slots are limited. Selected buskers/groups will receive $150, and have the chance to win cash prizes between $50-$150 through audience voting.
What are Buskers?
Buskers are street performers including musicians, dancers, theater groups, and other performance artists who perform in public spaces. This program is intended to provide a low-barrier opportunity for local and regional artists of all experience levels to share their work with the community. Buskers are permitted to promote and sell their work or solicit donations from the public during their performance time slots.
Busker Guidelines
- Content must be suitable for all ages
- Performance areas must be left clean and free of debris
- Buskers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult
- Buskers may use battery-powered sound amplification, facing away from any business or residence doors
- Buskers will use reasonable noise levels, and will lower noise levels if deemed necessary by Ellensburg Downtown Association staff.
