                    • Llama Parade and Afternoon with the Public

                    •  Saturday, November 2nd, we'll invite the public to join us for a llama parade from 1:30-2:00 around the hotel grounds. Afterwards there will be activities for the public to get involved including Llead a Llama, coloring activities, etc. We'll invite the public to shop from the vendors, experience llamas hands on, and celebrate International Year of Camelids.

                       

                    • Cornhole Tournament

                    • Back by popular demand, GALA's Corn Hole Tournament will take place at the Conference.  Anyone and everyone is encouraged to participate.  It's $5 per person and we promise to put you on a winning team. 

                    • Centerpiece Fundraiser

                    • Use your creativity to create a centerpiece and help us decorate the main ballroom tables. The centerpieces will be auctioned off after the banquet on Saturday. Must have a camelid image in form or fiber. No more than 20 inches in diameter and not more than 8 inches tall. Can be made out of camelid fiber, wood, metal, plastic, glass, fabric, etc.

                    • Yard Sale

                    • Do you have any used tack (buckets, halters, leads, poop scoopers, etc.), small equipment (shears, blades) just taking up space.  Bring them to our big YARD SALE. See Web Site or Conference Registration packet for details. Make a few bucks on stuff you don't need anymore and at the same time give the GALA bank account a bit of a boost.

                    • Walk Down Memory Lane

                    • We want to display in the fiber room, some of the wonderful items from the past that people have bought in the auction.  If you have an item, bring it along to display for others to enjoy and be inspired.

                    • Fiber Room

                    • This year, the fiber room will offer sessions on wet felting, needle felting, fiber dyeing, judging shorn fleece, marketing your fiber products, make and take projects, and fiber identification.

                      Add your touch to the ongoing, very cool, wet felted decorative project in the fiber room. Share a few minutes of your time to help embellish the project to be offered at Saturday night’s auction. Stop in and help and bid on it later! All are welcome.


                      Also, if you are not wanting to play cornhole and just want to relax with some friends while you knit, spin, crochet, needle felt or chat, grab a glass of wine and head for the FIBER ROOM.

                    • Fashion Show

                    • During lunch we will feature people and their fiber creations as they walk through the audience to be admired. Please email your 1-2 sentence description to marilynmilton@charter.net or bring a hard copy to the conference to give to Marilyn.

                    • Banquet

                    • Come as you like, casual to dressy.  This special dinner on Saturday is followed by a live auction.  So think about what you might be able to bring for the bidding.  Most proceeds go to camelid research and government relations.

                    • Veterinarian Day

                    • Friday's sessions are packed with topics relevant to new and experienced vets. $100 includes admittance to 5 sessions and lunch. Relevant topics include: History of Llamas with Niki Kuklenski, Cria Care with Dr. Pat Long, Standing Castration, Fighting Teeth, & Microchip with Dr. Char Arendas, Camelid Reproduction - Fertility and Breeding Practices with Dr. Ahmed Tibary, Meningeal Worm and GI Parasites with Dr. Char Arendas, Cooperative Haltering, Safely Handle Ears, Face and Feet with John Mallon, Birthing Demonstration with Indiana Bones and Hilary Ware, and a Camelid Vet Panel with well known Camelid Vets.

                    • Pioneer Reunion

                    • This will be the time to chat with those PIONEERS who helped to build this industry and make it what it is.  Take the opportunity to learn from experience.

                    • Costume Party

                    • It wouldn't be Halloween without a costume party.  Friday night dinner is the time to don your disguise.

                    • Donation to the Fundraiser
