2. Data Protection Officer and Supervisory Authority
The subjects of Personal Data (hereinafter referred to as PD) can communicate and submit questions, related to the processing and protection of their PD at the e-mail address: mooc@daissy.eap.gr. The Personal Data Protection Authority is the competent, supervisory authority for the protection of the fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons against the processing of their personal data.
3. Purpose of processing
The PD that are collected and processed by DAISSy HOU and the EDIFY-EDU consortium, are the absolutely necessary/essential requested in the framework of the project EDIFY-EDU.
Purpose of processing is to grant access to the learning platform, evalutation of course, providing a certificate at the end of the course and for reporting reasons to European Commission
4. Legal basis for processing
The legal basis for the processing of PD is the provision of consent by the subjects of the PD.
5. Processing of PD
After registration for the MOOC Online Course every user will get an automated e-mail from jotform with the following text:
Thank you for registering for the EDIFY EDU online course! We've received your submission. Within 5 working days, you’ll receive an email from the MOOC support team (via DAISSy MOOC) [no-reply@daissy.eap.gr] with your login details and access instructions. Please remember to check your spam folder.
We’re excited to have you join us! The course begins on October 14th, 2024.
A separate email sent by DAISSy MOOC will provide the users with their credentials for the login to the online platform in which they are requested to change their password after first login as well as the link to the learning platform https://mooc.daissy.eu/login/index.php
The registration through Jotform is necessary to get access to the online learning course.
The following data will be collected on Jotform:
- IP
- Submission Date
- First Name
- Last Name
- E-Mail
- Country of residence
- City of residence
- Category that describes occupation
- Age range
- Gender
- Short description of why the user wants to participate
- How the user found out about the MOOC
DAISSy HOU and the EDIFY-EDU consortium are committed to ensure that all necessary procedures will be followed by them, in order to ensure the protection of PD. All PD, which will result from collection and/or processing, will not be used by DAISSy HOU and the EDIFY-EDU consortium for any other purpose, other than that of registering and providing information, education from the platform https://mooc.daissy.eu and for the obligatory reporting in the project's framework.
Before entering to the learning platform users need to accept the terms of use and the privacy policy of the platform.
TheMOOC platform is up on a server of the DAISSy research group of HOU and is located at the EAP (HOU) Datacenter, Greece: https://mooc.daissy.eu/
Access to MOOC data (will be) provided to the system administrators of the DAISSy - HOU team & EDIFY EDU partners/ tutors.
For the platform & EDIFY EDU MOOC the following PD are collected:
- Submission Date
- Privacy policy acceptance
- First Name
- Last Name
- Nickname - is FirstName. Lastname
- Email
- Country of residence
- City of residence
In addition, DAISSy – HOU will record the answers to the quizzes and track the activity of user (views/clicks), necessary for the evaluation of the course and the issuing of the badges and certificates in the end of the course.
The aforementioned information will be provided in detail before the users start the online course by the first login to the platform.
6. Recipients and Transfer of PD
Access to PD is only available to the competent, authorized personnel of DAISSy HOU and the EDIFY-EDU consortium, in the context of the execution of the duties assigned to it by the data controller. It is ensured, through a written contract, that access to PD is subject to strict, contractual confidentiality obligations, that PD are processed only for the above purpose. The obligation to comply with the above, burdens, in perpetuity, the authorized personnel, that is, even after the termination of its contractual relationship.
7. Data Retention Time
The PD are collected, maintained and processed, only, during the implementation of the project. The electronic file is stored in a secure environment of DAISSy HOU and the EDIFY-EDU consortium, for the duration of implementation and completion of the project evaluation and in any case not more than five (5) years. After the lapse of the year, these specific data are deleted/destroyed by the Data Controller, in a secure way so that it is not possible to identify the subjects and to exclude, in every way, the illegal and unfair processing of them.
8. Rights of the data subjects
Users, as subjects of PD, have the following rights:
i. Right to information, ii. Right of access, iii. Right to rectification, iv. Right to erasure, v. Right to restrict processing, vi. Right to data portability, vii. Right to object and viii. Right to human intervention. In any case, you can communicate with an electronic message at mooc@daissy.eap.gr in order to be informed about the existence of a personal file with PD and to exercise the above rights, under specific conditions, provided there is no restriction from the applicable, legal obligations and responsibilities of DAISSy HOU.
9. JotForm
Jotform complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Jotform servers are co-located in a cloud-based architecture with Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Google Cloud data centers and AWS data centers for this project are located in Frankfurt (Germany, EU). All data remains in-region, so EU data always resides in the EU.
