Parent Responsibility
Parents are expected to take primary responsibility for the student’s education, to supervise their academic work, and to assure that assignments are completed with the proper requirements, and due dates are adhered to. This includes monitoring of student’s daily work and proofreading ALL homework assignments before final submission. Parents may delegate the task of proofreading as they deem prudent or necessary to any adult (other than their class parent-teacher) as long as they follow the course parent-teacher’s directions. Parents are expected to procure and maintain all required equipment and materials needed for each class. Willow Ridge Homeschool Co-op Parent-Teachers are not responsible for the completion of assignments outside the weekly class meeting.
-
And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. ~Genesis 17:7
-
You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. ~Deut 6:7-9
-
Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck. ~ Proverbs 1:8-9
Assignments & Grades
All assignments are due in the manner prescribed by the parent-teacher, Pacific Standard Time, on the due date. Late assignments will not be accepted or graded unless an agreement is made with the individual parent-teacher more than 72 hours prior to the due date.
Although this is a co-op, parents should encourage their children to complete assignments as instructed. This is good practice for their future endeavors. As always, parents are the full authority in their children’s education, therefore, many assignments will be graded at home under the parent’s purview.
Biblical Integrity
Integrity means to do what is right even when no one is looking. Willow Ridge Homeschool Co-op requires all students to maintain Biblical Integrity above all else. Plagiarism and cheating will not be tolerated.
- The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them. ~ Proverbs 11:3
- Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. ~Philippians 4:8-9
- Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. ~ Proverbs 10:9
- Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men ~ Colossians 3:23
Attendance and Make-Ups
Students are responsible for obtaining their homework assignments. Students who are sick, will be given one additional week to complete their missed assignments. It is the responsibility of the student and their parent(s) to request the homework syllabus from their primary Co-op parent-teacher.
Writing Assignment Standards & Quality
It is assumed that students will have sufficient mastery of writing skills including grammar, vocabulary, and expression commensurate with the level of the class.
Parents expressly state that this is the case by registering students.
There is a specific format for all written assignments. Parents are expected to see that the Student follows this format. Formats are typically found in your students’ textbook, or provided by the individual parent-teacher, in the form of a checklist/rubric. Some students may require customized checklists and those will be issued by their teacher(s) as needed.
General Assignment Standard:

- Additional requirements will be introduced throughout the course(s)
For handwritten assignments, all students shall:

Homework Time Management:
