Fall CENSWPA Network Meeting
Please join is for our in-person Fall Network Meeting. This meeting will feature guest speakers, Dr. Douglas Myers and Dr. David Kriebel. Their presentation will cover details of their previous studies (Myers, et al, 2020, Myers, et al, 2021, Myers and Kriebel, 2022) that showed smoking cessation would not dramatically reduce smoking-related cancers in U.S. counties with the highest exposures to air pollution. They will also speak to their 2024 study that sharpened its focus on lung cancer, which is both the most common cancer and the one most strongly linked to cancer. Dr. Myers and Dr. Kriebel will highlight Allegheny County as they present their major findings on the question: why would some counties see only modest reductions in lung cancer if smoking were completely eliminated? Additionally, updates on all CENSWPA Teams, projects, and priorities will be covered.
