Artist Lab at OzAsia Festival 2024
Expression of Interest

Artist Lab is a multi-day professional development program for Asian Australian artists, designed by Contemporary Asian Australian Performance (CAAP). This year the initiative will be led by OzAsia festival. Artist Lab aims to expand artistic practices and experiences for South Australian artists and is delivered in collaboration with leading South Australian companies. The program plays a critical role in increasing sector engagement with cultural diversity in the arts, fostering a more equitable, accessible, and representative industry. Since 2021, Artist Lab has been an integral part of the OzAsia Festival program, supporting independent Asian Australian artists in their creative practice and developing local networks.

During OzAsia Festival 2024, nine Asian Australian artists will gather for five days aimed at fostering learning, experimentation, skills development, and collaborative growth. Over the course of this program, participants will engage in masterclasses, workshops and seminars guided by accomplished industry experts from our partner organisations. Participating artists will also have the opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with industry partners.

An honorarium will be paid to each of the successful participants at the conclusion of the program.
