Injini Job Application_Partnerships & Ecosystem Head
  • Injini Partnerships & Ecosystem Head

Improving education in Africa through innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and collaboration.
  • Injini is a small but growing organisation and needs a strong team of entrepreneurially-minded and driven people.

Having only been established seven years ago, Injini still functions like a startup itself, so a team player is necessary. This role calls for a demonstrable passion for education, entrepreneurship, social impact, and an understanding of the African EdTech or broader innovation sector.  We’re looking for a candidate with relevant professional and personal skills and the ability to mentor, support, and capacity-build a young and enthusiastic team.

This individual must have excellent critical thinking, strategic, and problem-solving skills, and be able to direct the organisation’s partnership and ecosystem development efforts. This person should be an excellent communicator and relator, be able to work a room and be completely comfortable connecting and liaising with a myriad of stakeholders from the public and private sectors. This person needs to be able to read between the lines, deduce motivations and agendas, and align the needs of the organisation and those of various stakeholders.

Please see the full job description HERE.

    Application closes 15 August 2024.

  • We value transparency and hope you do, too. In the interest of saving everyone's time, let's talk about the elephant in the room:

The salary range for this position is between R660,000 and R780,000 per annum (gross/cost to company). Injini is a non-profit company that offers competitive remuneration, although sometimes not comparable to large corporate entities.

As a startup ourselves, Injini unfortunately does not (yet) offer benefits like medical aid and pension/provident fund contributions.

  • There are some perks to startup life! We value work-life balance and flexibility. Our team operates on a hybrid system (home + office). We expect all team members to be in our offices in Brickfield Canvas, Woodstock every Tuesday and Thursday, unless requested otherwise. You will always have access to the office if you wish, but are also welcome to work from home up to three times per week

At the beginning of your contract, you may be asked to spend more time in the office as we all get to know each other. Similarly, some special programmatic events and activities might require certain or all team members to be in the office on additional days.

Please note: This role may require some local and international travel.
