Theme Information
This is an exhibition about a place; a place where you feel comfortable, the oddities and beauties of where you came from and where you feel at home.
Both of our gallery spaces will be used to exhibit the work.
Jane St Art Center and our annex The Sketchbook Gallery right next door.
Please include 3 pieces which reflect your idea of home. Please be creative. We do not want to see classic landscapes or a basic painting of your house. We want to see something else. Go deeper. Think about what “Home” actually means to you and show us that. Maybe it’s your mothers cooking or the ghost under your bed growing up. If it is your house, what is it specifically about your house that made it home to you? Maybe it’s the beautiful garden or a tree you loved or your fathers chair, a map or your uncles car that was always in the driveway…etc. Think about it. Maybe you came to a new place and all of a sudden you say to yourself. ”Ah, finally I am home” Why?
Please include this information in your application in a short paragraph.
This is a Jane St. Art Center Director juried show, accepting works in 2D only. We are accepting: paintings, drawings, prints, photography, collage, etc.

APPLICANTS READ BELOW
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
• Open all media works including painting, prints, photography, drawing, collage, sculpture, video/film
• You must submit 3 pieces. We want to see your series on the subject.
• If you are entering a triptych, that will be counted as your 3 pieces and we want to see one of your images as that entire piece including the frame, where applicable.
• We need to see an image of your entire piece (including the frame if framed) No details. If you do not have it framed yet and you intend to, tell us that in the note.
• FOR ALL FRAMED WORKS : Neutral frames and mats only. No colorful mats or ornate frames will be accepted. We will not accept work that is hung with pushpins or the like.
• All hanging work must be ready to hang at drop off. (ie. must have wire, hangers etc. attached to the piece) For sculpture we do have pedals. For heavy or complicated hang will will ask the artists to hang their own work in the designated spot.
• Applicants must be able to drop off and pick up their work at the designated date. We do not accept shipped work nor do we store work.

• All work must be signed, clean, no wet paint, no push pins, no broken frames
• Any piece without proper hanging materials, dirty mat, broke frame etc. will be rejected.
• All works must be labeled on the back with your name, title, year, medium size (including frame, price)
• All visual art files have to be formatted as a .jpg or .png
• All works must be for sale. Note the gallery split is 60/40 not including 8% sales tax. Artists gets 60%
• The gallery does not pay the artists for their framing so please price your work accordingly.
• If the work is particularly heavy or an unusual hang you must be prepared to hang the work yourself, deinstall it and patch the wall when the show comes down. Please indicate this in the NOTE if the work is very heavy or needs special hanging procedure.

ACCEPTED WORK

• All works accepted to the show must be delivered in person and picked up by the designated time/date if your piece(s) are not sold.
• The work must arrive in the gallery wrapped in protective packaging with your name and title on the outside of the package. BRING IN WORK WRAPPED.
• WE WILL NOT ACCEPT WORK EARLY OR LATE. If you cannot drop off/pick up your work in this time frame then please make arrangements for someone else to drop off/pick up your work. WE DO NOT STORE WORK.
