Greetings, Church volunteers play a vital role in the life of our church. Volunteers are integral to creating a sense of unity and belonging within our church community.
Through volunteering, relationships are forged, support systems are built, and people develop a sense of belonging. Volunteering in church ministry also offers a unique opportunity for personal growth. You will find that the act of serving others will deepen your self-awareness, spiritual growth, empathy and sense of fulfillment.

Volunteer Ministry Opportunities
Ushers: Outside/ Inside, rain or shine this team ensures that each person who visits is met with a smile. At each door, we ensure that every person is greeted with a welcoming smile and prepared to answer any questions that may arise. This team ensures that from start to finish, the service flows as it should
Hospitality ( Also includes Pop-up Cafe): The heartbeat of our guest experience. Hospitality serves our church by creating a welcoming environment and conversation while serving anything provided at a special event. They greet our guests and manage the Pop-up cafe.
First Time Engagement: First Time team exists to create an environment where people who are coming to Harris Temple for the first time can have personal connection, questions answered, and feel welcomed to our church. This team will work within the communications department to help implement our follow up communications with visitors.
The Media Team: Operates cameras, sound equipment, and lighting during services and events at Harris Temple
WH&OMS/Missionary Society: The missionaries work to promote growth in the knowledge and understanding of God and His plan of redemption for the world. Missionaries coordinate and organize mission work, provide support to volunteers and foster a heart for missions within the church community. Additionally, this ministry works in collaboration with the District to advance the goals of the department.
Kitchen Crew: This team and its leadership will manage the functions of the kitchen. From preparing and managing the logistics for meals to be served and or any activities in the kitchen.
Cleaning and Maintenance: This team is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the church facilities. This includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting and wiping surfaces, and ensuring that all areas are presentable and ready for use. This team also recruits volunteers to assist with setting up and taking down equipment for events and activities held in the church.
Worship/Praise Team: The Praise Team & Choir helps set the tone for morning worship at HT.
Outreach Team: This team facilitates and participates in community outreach programs and initiatives. They identify and address the needs of the community. They support and encourage individuals to get involved in serving and meeting the needs of the community. Outreach volunteers exemplify the teachings of Jesus by serving those in need and spreading the message of love and compassion.
Social Media Team: Will Manage and update social media platforms for the church. Create engaging content and posts (reels, videos, memes Coordinate with other teams to promote church events and activities. Monitor and analyze social
Christian Education Ministry: This ministry works to develop Committed and Credible Disciples of Christ through teaching, workshops and learning experiences. (Some of the activities of the CED ministry are also to Teach Sunday School, Vacation Bible school, plan events for our youth and children.
