Request a tree

Are you interested in enhancing the greenery in your community? The Truffula Club is seeking volunteers who would like to have a tree planted on the parkway in front of their home.

Eligibility Requirements:

You must have a parkway near your residence (see diagram below).
You must be able to water the tree with 15-20 gallons weekly, for 3 years during the warm months (May-October).
You must live in the Brighton Park neighborhood.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, a tree will be planted on the parkway near your residence. An arborist will assess your parkway to determine the best type and size of tree for your location.

Please Note:

Parkways are city property, so you do not need to own the property or live directly by the parkway where the tree will be planted.
Renters are eligible to participate.
Your primary responsibility will be to care for the tree consistently.

By submiting this form you commit to tending to a complimentary tree planted in your parkway provided by OpenLands.

Please Note: Submitting this form does not guarantee that you will receive a tree. Trees will only be planted after a certified arborist conducts an assessment and approves the location to ensure it is suitable. We will contact you via email or in person to sign a volunteer agreement form before your tree is planted. If your location does not qualify, we will notify you by email.

This should clearly communicate the process and set the right expectations for the volunteers.
