    If you are already on a committee, thank you! We would welcome you back next year if you wish to participate again!

    If you wish to participate in one or more committees, please indicate your selection(s) below. You are welcome to change, add, or subtract any committee participation during the year, as you wish.

    Once we have established our committees for 2026, we will send out the calendar invitations for the meetings. We will use the email address you provide here for those invitations.

  • Committee Descriptions

  • Legislation Committee

    Andrew Thum, Chair

    Meeting times: Bi-Monthly, Fourth Tuesday of the month, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

    Purpose of Committee

    • Charged with monitoring, reporting, and recommending legislative action at the state and federal level to the PONL Board
    • Create and disseminate letters, talking points, and position papers to members, legislators, and other interested stakeholders
    • Promote the development, relationship, and open communication between PONL membership and legislators
    • Analyze, discuss, and make recommendations to the PONL Board regarding legislation being considered in both the Pennsylvania and United States House and Senate

    Role/Responsibilities

    • Actively participate in regular conference calls

    Time Commitment

    • Approx. 1 hour/every other month for committee meetings
    • As needed, volunteer assignments to achieve committee goals

     

  • Membership Committee

    Taylor Criste, Chair

    Meeting times: Third Monday of each month, from 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.

    Purpose of Committee

    • Charged with monitoring and increasing PONL membership numbers in all regions
    • Brainstorm membership incentive initiatives and marketing strategies
    • Create content for the biannual membership survey, analyze survey results, and recommend actions based on these findings

    Role/Responsibilities

    • Actively participate in monthly conference calls
    • Provide insight and experience to be used to recruit additional members

    Time Commitment

    • Approx. 1 hour/month for committee meetings
    • As needed, volunteer assignments to achieve committee goals
  • New Nurse Leader Conference Planning Committee

    AnnMarie Papa, Chair

    Meeting times: Third Friday of each month, from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

    Purpose of Committee

    • Survey new leaders to determine what educational topics will most assist them in their roles
    • Identifies speakers and decides on format and locations to provide requested education and skills training

    Role/Responsibilities

    • Actively participate in regular conference calls
    • Assist in identifying topics and subject matter and recruiting speakers

    Time Commitment

    • Approx. 1 hour/every month for committee meetings
    • As needed, volunteer assignments to achieve committee goals
       
  • Program & Education Committee

    Nicole Schliecker, Chair

    Meeting Time: Second Wednesday of each month, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

    Purpose of Committee

    • Charged with conducting educational events in various formats and locations to engage members and enrich their Nursing leadership knowledge and skills
    • Responsible for planning all aspects of the Annual Nursing Leadership Conference and selecting the speakers, topics, format, and additional activities that may occur in conjunction with the event
    • Collaborate with regional councils in planning and offering educational sessions in various parts of the state.

    Role/Responsibilities

    • Actively participate in regular conference calls
    • Assist in identifying topics and subject matter, recruiting speakers, and reviewing abstract submissions.
    • Provide support to annual conferences as needed

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 2 hours/month for committee meetings
    • On-site support at Annual Conference
       
  • Social Media Task Force

    Eric Pecuch, Chair

    Meeting Time: First Wednesday of each month, from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

    Purpose of Task Force

    • Charged with enhancing PONL’s visibility, engagement, and communication by strategically leveraging social media platforms to support its mission, promote leadership, and connect nursing professionals across the state.

    Role/Responsibilities

    • Actively participate in monthly conference calls
    • Support PONL regions with social media engagement

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 1 hour/month for meetings
    • As-needed volunteer assignments to achieve committee goals.
       
  • Mentorship Task Force

    Carol Fluegge, Chair

    Meeting Time: Second Thursday of each month, from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

    Purpose of Task Force

    • Create, develop, and operationalize an evidence-based structure and program for a Nurse Leader Mentorship Program for PONL.
    • Promote the importance of the program and encourage both mentors and mentees to participate in the Nurse Leader Mentorship Program to the PONL Membership.
    • Analyze, evaluate, and oversee the progress and outcomes of the program, making recommendations as necessary.

    Role/Responsibilities

    • Actively participate in monthly conference calls
    • Provide expertise, insight, and knowledge related to nurse leader mentorship programs in other healthcare settings.
    • Assist in evidence-based review of best practices related to the nurse leader mentorship programs.

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 1 hour/month for meetings
    • As-needed volunteer assignments to achieve committee goals.
